Before Marc Mero was a wrestler, he was an amateur boxer in New York State. 

Marc Mero started off wrestling in WCW as Johnny B Badd. He was known as the prettiest in WCW. He would come out with his Badd Blaster and shoot confetti into the crowd before his matches. He would often be in the opening match of WCW pay-per-views. He held the WCW TV Championship. 

When he left WCW in the mid 90's, he went to the WWF. There he was known as his real name Marc Mero, but he used the nickname of Wildman. He was accompanied to the ring by his real-life wife, Sable (known today as Rena Mero). After wrestling a few years as Wildman, he dropped the name to become a boxer/wrestler known as Marvelous Marc Mero. Sable left him and he picked up Jacqueline. He has since left WWF and is currently out of wrestling.
