Tito Santana was always a fan favorite wherever he wrestled. He debuted in the WWF in 1979, as a tag team wreslter and in the early '80's he turned to singles competition and won the Intercontinental Championship. Santana then went back to tag teams, this time with Rick Martel as Strike Force. Then for a while in the WWF, he became known as El Matador, a bullfighter from Mexico.
Santana left for ECW and became one of the first heavyweight champions in that federation. He has also wrestled at the first nine WrestleManias and still wrestles occasionally for independent federations on the east coast. For a few years, Santana commentated for the WWF in Spanish. He also wrestled one night on WCW Monday Nitro.
