Bret "Hitman"
Hart vs. Razor Ramon
King of the Ring First Round Match
Razor is heckled by chants of "1-2-3" during this
match, since he was embarrassed by The 1-2-3 Kid on RAW several
weeks earlier. Razor tries going for a belly-to-back suplex from
the top, but it backfires as Bret falls on top of Ramon for the
pinfall.
Mr. Perfect vs. Mr.
Hughes
King of the Ring First Round Match
Mr. Hughes had stolen the urn from the Undertaker earlier on WWF
Superstars, and was disqualified when he hit Mr. Perfect with it.
Mr. Perfect advances to the semi-finals.
Bam Bam Bigelow with
Luna Vachon vs. "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan
King of the Ring First Round Match
Bigelow wins with the flying headbutt from the top rope. This was
Duggan's last match with the WWF.
"The Narcissist"
Lex Luger vs. Tatanka
King of the Ring First Round Match
Both of these men were undefeated coming into this match, and
both remained that way afterwards. The match ends in a time limit
draw. Afterwards, Luger knocks Tatanka out with his running
forearm. Bam Bam Bigelow now gets a bye into the final round of
the KOTR Tournament.
Bret "Hitman"
Hart vs. Mr. Perfect
King of the Ring Semi-Final Match
Mr. Perfect goes for an inside cradle on Bret Hart, but its
reversed and the Hitman gets a three count for the victory.
Perfect is upset about the loss, but shakes Bret's hand after the
match.
Hulk Hogan (WWF
Champion) vs. Yokozuna with Mr. Fuji
Yokozuna stuns the crowd by kicking out after Hogan's legdrop.
One of the photographer's jumps on the ring apron, and the camera
flash apparently blinds Hogan. Yoko knocks Hogan down, and hits
him with his own legdrop to regain the WWF Championship. Then,
Yokozuna hits the banzai drop and Hogan must be helped to the
back. Afterwards, Federation President Jack Tunney congratulates
Yoko on his title victory. This was Hogan's final match in the
WWF.
Steiner Brothers and Smoking
Gunns vs. Money Inc. and Headshrinkers
This was during the time where the Steiners and Money Inc.
exchanged the tag titles on several occasions. The match ends
with Billy Gunn rolling Ted DiBiase up in a small package for the
victory. Afterwards, all eight men begin brawling.
Shawn Michaels (Intercontinental
Champion) with Diesel vs. Crush
Two Doinks come out to distract Crush, and Crush gets hit with
Michaels' superkick. HBK retains the Intercontinental Champion.
Bret "Hitman"
Hart vs. Bam Bam Bigelow with Luna Vachon
King of the Ring Tournament Finals
Luna nails Bret with a steel chair, and Bigelow hits the headbutt
for the victory. However, another official comes out to argue
with the first referee, and the match continues. Bret rolls Bam
Bam up with a victory roll to become the first ever King of the
Ring. During Bret's coronation, Jerry "The King"
Lawler attacks the Hitman.
