Raw is War

On Christmas night, RAW IS WAR emanated from Chattanooga, Tenn.!

Wearing a Santa's hat, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley walked to the ring as the show kicked off! She said that her family was truly celebrating the Christmas spirit -- and that her father, Vince McMahon, was volunteering his time at a soup kitchen in Greenwich, Ct.! Stephanie said that she baked her mother a Christmas desert which reminded her of her mom -- a fruitcake!

Stephanie then said she had a problem with how SmackDown! ended on Thursday -- with The Rock and the Undertaker staring each other down. She said she wanted to know which of the two was the greater superstar. Acting on her father's behalf, Stephanie made a match for RAW pitting The Rock against the Undertaker! She said that the match would determine who was the greater superstar.

Stephanie then introduced World Wrestling Federation Champion Kurt Angle and the Federation Tag Team Champions, Edge & Christian! Like Stephanie, Angle was wearing a Santa's hat -- and a wreath around his neck! After Edge wished the McMahons a totally Merry Christmas, he said his only regret was that Mick Foley wasn't around to celebrate the holiday, after he was fired a week earlier. Christian said that Christmas had come early -- since he and his brother regained the Tag Team Championship on SmackDown!

As the crowd chanted "Angle sucks," the Federation Champion said he was in the Christmas spirit. Angle then brought out the entire Angle family! Out to the ring came five Angles, all dressed in Olympic warm-up suits and Santa hats! Kurt then introduced his brothers and cousin to Stephanie -- all the while touting their amateur wrestling accomplishments!

As Christian played his kazoo, the assembled group in the ring then began singing Christmas carols in the ring! But soon one superstar couldn't take it anymore -- and out to the stage walked Chris Jericho! Y2J said that the show wasn't "RAW is Jericho," but instead "Revenge of the Nerds!" Jericho told the Angles to shut the hell up -- and that instead of singing "Winter Wonderland," he should be singing "12 Days of Christmas." After all, there were six Angles, two valley girls (Edge & Christian) and one filthy, dirty, disgusting, brutal, bottom-feeding trashbag ho in a pear tree!

Jericho said he wanted just one present for Christmas -- the World Wrestling Federation Championship! Stephanie denied him his title shot -- but said she would make a six-man tag pitting Jericho and a team of his choice against Angle, Edge & Christian. Y2J said thanks for the gift, but he didn't get anything for her -- because he didn't know what to get the girl who's had everyone! He then told Edge & Christian to bring their kazoos -- and he would tell his partners to get the tables!

After the commercial break, Kurt was giving his family a tour of the arena when he ran into K-Kwik -- whose name he couldn't remember! The Angles all said hi to K-Kwik, prompting K-Kwik to respond, "Talk about a white Christmas!"

The first match on RAW pitted the Hardy Boyz against Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko of the Radicalz. Before the match, Matt and Jeff Hardy begged Lita to stay backstage, because she could be in danger if she came to ringside -- but the former Women's Champion insisted on accompanying her friends to the ring. Lita soon involved herself in the match, nailing Malenko with a low blow, allowing Matt Hardy to score a top-rope legdrop and a pinfall on the Light Heavyweight Champion. After the match, Dean locked Matt Hardy in a Texas Cloverleaf, and when Lita went to Matt's aid, Benoit snuck up behind her and put her in the Crossface!

As paramedics checked on Lita backstage, Benoit came over to rub salt in her wounds! Matt Hardy attacked the Wolverine before officials could separate the two!

As The Rock arrived at the arena, Michael Cole informed him that Stephanie had made a match for RAW pitting him against the Undertaker. The Rock paused momentarily, and then kept walking without addressing Cole

Kevin Kelly asked Debra why Mr. McMahon would ask her to remain with the Federation as Lt. Commissioner. Debra said she had no idea, but she would do her best. She said she missed Mick Foley because he made her job fun, but now it was just a job. She said she would make Mick Foley proud -- and she made a Triple Threat Hardcore Championship match with Hardcore Holly, Raven and Steve Blackman!

Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley was in her locker room talking to her father on speakerphone, and he told her how much he enjoyed working at the soup kitchen. Suddenly, Stephanie heard a woman's voice on the phone! Stephanie demanded that her father put the woman on the phone, but Mr. McMahon said that she had just left! Mr. McMahon then hung up the phone, and his daughter seemed to be irate!

Michael Cole then interviewed Stone Cold Steve Austin about his match with Kane. The Texas Rattlesnake said that since Christmas was the giving time of year, he would give Kane an Austin 3:16 can of whoopass!

Next up, Steve Blackman defended his Hardcore Championship in a Triple Threat Match against Raven and Hardcore Holly, in a match made by Lt. Commissioner Debra. The match quickly moved from the ring to the stands to the hallway to the outside of the arena! Steve Blackman suplexed Hardcore on the hood of a car and then pinned him for the win -- but Raven snuck up behind Blackman and nailed him with a 2x4 to become the new Hardcore Champion, thanks to the 24-7 rule!

Prior to the match between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Kane, William Regal headed to the ring, and gave his American friends a lesson in proper table manners for the holiday season. He implored the fans not to belch and fart in front of their children! Regal's speech was quickly cut off by the entrance of the Big Red Machine and the Texas Rattlesnake! Kane and Austin battled intensely, as Regal joined J.R. and the King at ringside for guest commentary. The goodwill ambassador tried to interfere in the match, but Austin clotheslined him for his troubles! During the match, Jerry Lawler announced that Kane was one of the men in the 30-man Royal Rumble!

After Stone Cold nailed a Stunner on Kane, Regal again tried to get involved in the match, distracting the referee. The European Champion then jumped in the ring and attacked the Rattlesnake, getting Kane disqualified in the process. Kane and Regal double-teamed Austin -- but Stone Cold battled back, nailing both men with a steel chair! Austin then grabbed a couple of beers and had himself a holiday toast!

Michael Cole then asked the Undertaker about his match against The Rock. The Taker said he was in the mood to hurt someone

The Kat then came to ringside dressed in a red robe! She gave J.R. a Christmas gift -- the "Divas: Postcard from the Carribean" video! She then gave the King a very special gift -- and took off the robe to reveal a scintillating red bikini!

Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley walked into T&A's locker room looking for Trish. Stephanie's former fiance, Test, said that Trish wouldn't be at RAW. After Stephanie barged out, Test told Albert that he suspected that Trish was with Mr. McMahon!

As his family watched on, Kurt Angle talked to his mom and dad on the phone about their singing and his upcoming six-man tag!

T&A -- without Trish -- took on Too Cool in tag team action. Soon after the opening bell, Stephanie walked to the stage -- which served as a distraction for her former fiance, Test. Scotty 2 Hotty soon took Albert to the mat and gave him a very special Christmas Worm! As Test went into the ropes, Stephanie grabbed his leg. As Test turned around to yell at her, Grand Master Sexay rolled him up, giving Too Cool the win!

After the match, Albert went to Stephanie's locker room. He said he wasn't mad about the match, and that if Stephanie needed anything, he was there to help

Next up, Chris Jericho and the Dudley Boyz faced Kurt Angle, Edge & Christian in six-man tag action. As the match began, the entire Angle family took seats at ringside to watch Kurt in action! Jericho soon got into it with the entire Angle family! Buh Buh Ray Dudley then powerbombed Eric Angle through a table! Inside the ring, Kurt blocked the Lionsault and delivered an Olympic slam on Y2J, pinning Jericho for the win. The entire Angle family then got in the ring and held Jericho, as Kurt physically and verbally assaulted Y2J.

After the match, Kurt apologized to his brother for allowing the Dudleyz to put him through a table. Edge & Christian vowed to get even with the Dudleyz.

As the Right to Censor headed to the ring, Bull Buchanan asked why fans would actually purchase an APA "Always Pounding Ass" shirt on the Internet. The Goodfather echoed his sentiments, saying that the World Wide Web was a harmful influence which needed to be censored. Bull and the Goodfather took on the APA, who were accompanied by Jacqueline. During the match, Ivory and Jackie got into it, distracting the ref. Val Venis then hit a DDT on Bradshaw, and Bull added a legdrop, which allowed him to pin the Texan

Footage was shown of an interview conducted earlier in the day with Jim Ross and Chyna. The Ninth Wonder of the World said that when she was first piledriven by the Right to Censor, she lost feelings in her arms. She said the MRI revealed three ruptured discs in her neck -- and doctors told her that she would never wrestle again. Chyna then began crying, saying that she hated the Right to Censor for taking her life from her. She said she'd be damned if she let the Right to Censor end her career this way, and she swore she'd return one day.

Kevin Kelly then interviewed The Rock backstage. He said he didn't fear the Last Ride, and that he was afraid of no one. The Great One said he wanted to talk about what made him happy, being that it was Christmas. He then told his favorite Christmas story -- "Rocky, the People's Reindeer!" He said that all the other reindeers were jealous of Rocky the reindeer. Then, one foggy Christmas eve, Santa was full of gas, so Rocky took the bag of toys, and shoved it up Santa's ass! Since it was Christmas, The Rock said that Taker better not laugh, he better not cry, he better not put, Rock's telling him why -- Brahma Bull is coming to town!

The main event on RAW was the much-anticipated match between The Rock and the Undertaker, who just one week ago teamed up to win the Tag Team Championship. As the match began, Jerry Lawler announced that the Undertaker would take part in the 30-man Royal Rumble match in four weeks on Pay-Per-View!

The Undertaker was able to block the Rock Bottom, and chokeslammed The Rock. But when Taker went for the Last Ride, Rikishi walked down to ringside! The Rock then escaped from the Taker's clutches, and hit a spinebuster! As Rock went for the People's Elbow, Rikishi interfered! Rikishi flattened both superstars with sit-down splashes, and left them lying in the ring as RAW went off the air!
