Raw is War

Target Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota
June 4, 2001

RAW blasted off live from the Target Center in Minneapolis as Kane put his Intercontinental Championship on the line against Christian! Before Christian came to the ring, he told the crowd that he felt sorry for them, because they had nothing to cheer for but freaks like Kirby Puckett and Kevin Garnett! Edge took the microphone and added that Christian would take the title for the Big Red Machine! Soon, Edge distracted Kane and pulled him out of the ring, giving Christian the slight advantage. Kane fought back, and as Christian climbed to the top rope, Kane yanked him down and went to hit a chokeslam. Then, Edge distracted Kane, and as Kane pulled Edge in, a WCW video played on the TitanTron and WCW's Hugh Morrus jumped in the ring and hit Edge with a moonsault! Morrus ran out of the ring as Kane pinned Christian!

In the production truck, WCW Chairman Shane McMahon high-fived the production people for putting the WCW video on the TitanTron!

Meanwhile, World Wrestling Federation Chairman Vincent K. McMahon made his way to the center of the ring. Vince said that it was pretty obvious that as far as Shane's intentions as far as WCW was concerned was that he wanted to just cause disruption - and Vince promised that wouldn't happen.

Mr. McMahon went on to address a bigger concern - Chris Benoit! Vince told Benoit that he was an animal and Vince didn't appreciate what Benoit did to him last week. Vince said that Stone Cold Steve Austin treated Benoit as an animal, defeating him twice last week. Mr. McMahon promised that Benoit would never again get a shot at the Federation title! Vince added one more thing - the fact that Benoit would be facing the Big Show later on RAW

At that, the sound of screeching tires and a three-chord guitar riff echoed throughout the arena as Mick Foley walked out to the ring! Foley said he wanted to thank everyone for making his book a best-seller, and he wanted to talk about his bookmark - which happened to be a valid Federation contract! The contract he held said that Foley could make a main event at any RAW of his choosing! Foley said that he would make a match for this night on RAW, and that match featured Chris Jericho against Stone Cold! Foley added that he was banning Benoit and Vince from ringside! Vince said he was smarter than that, and told Foley that the contract he held was signed in Connecticut, and it was only valid there!

Foley knew Vince would try to pull that, so he prepared for that. Mick said he talked to one of his good friends, and he was going to come out now, and Mick introduced Jesse Ventura! Jesse said that Vince couldn't control him when he worked for him, and he couldn't control him now! He said that there were more powerful people in the world than Vince, and Jesse was one of them! Ventura told Mick Foley that his match would happen, and then took the contract Foley had and signed it to make it official!

As Foley and Jesse left, Mick told Vince that he intended on not only starting the night with a big surprise, but he planned on ending it with a big surprise as well!

Meanwhile, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Debra arrived at the building.

In a King of the Ring Qualifying Match, Matt Hardy took on his brother Jeff! Matt and Jeff gingerly went after each other as the match began. Jeff Hardy climbed to the top rope and hit his brother with a corkscrew, but Matt kicked out of the pin attempt and the action spilled outside of the ring. When they got back in the ring, Jeff went to hit a Swanton Bomb, but missed! Then, he went for a backslide and pinned Matt to advance in the tournament.

As Stone Cold shined up hit Championship, Mr. McMahon entered his dressing room and broke the news to Austin that he would be facing Jericho! Austin told Vince he couldn't go because his back was killing him! Vince said that everything stemmed out of the divorce he was going through with Linda. Austin said that the divorce was effecting him and he didn't like it, and he wanted Vince to get it cleared up as soon as possible.

Elsewhere, Trish Stratus stood around looking concerned. Mick Foley walked by and asked her what was wrong, and she said she was concerned about her upcoming bra and panty match against Terri later. Mick told her it was her duty to compete in that match, and soon, Foley had Trish very excited about competing later!

As Tajiri poured Commissioner Regal some tea, Kurt Angle walked in asking if Shane accepted his King of the Ring challenge. Regal informed him that Shane had indeed accepted his challenge. Kurt then asked if he could enter the King of the Ring tournament, saying that he should be able to try and defend his win last year! Regal told Angle he could enter the tourney. Before leaving, Kurt had one more request - a match against Spike Dudley. Regal said that he had the Hollys going against the Dudleys, but he would team Angle with the Hollys and add Spike into the mix, making the match a six-man tag.

At WWF New York, Molly Holly told J.R. that she was feeling better and that she wanted to thank Spike for all the flowers he had sent to her. Then Molly added that she liked Spike too!

Spike watched on from the arena and smiled, saying, "She likes me!"

The Holly Cousins - Crash and Hardcore - teamed up with Kurt Angle in six-man tag team action against Bubba Ray, D-Von and Spike Dudley. As the match began, Spike entered the ring against Hardcore, but Spike ran over and punched Kurt! Spike quickly ran over to D-Von and tagged him into the match. D-Von ended up tagging Spike back in, and Hardcore and Crash Holly beat on Spike mercilessly. Soon, Angle entered the ring and made it a three-on-one situation. Spike fought for everything he had, and knocked Angle down off the turnbuckle! Finally, Spike was able to tag in Bubba Ray. Bubba cleaned house, and D-Von hit Angle with the Wassap Headbutt! As they called for the table, Kurt hit Bubba with the Angle Slam to pick up the pin and the win!

In a match set up earlier by Vince McMahon, Chris Benoit faced the Big Show. The Show dominated the Wolverine at the outset. When Big Show went to the top rope for an elbow drop, Benoit rolled out of the way. As Show lie in pain in the ring, Benoit took advantage, going up top for his Flying Headbutt, but the Big Show caught him! Show went to hit Benoit with a chokeslam, but the Wolverine reversed that into the Crossface, causing Show to tap out!Out back, the Undertaker rode his motorcycle into the parking area of the building. He immediately made his way to the ring. The Dead Man cut right to the chase - he said someone had a death wish by stalking his wife, and that wish was about to come true! Taker said that he chose his life for him, not his family. In fact, Undertaker has gone out of his way to keep his family away from what he did. He had enough with the secret tapes, and he wanted it to stop. Taker has warned people about messing with his family - and there would be hell to pay until he found out was doing the stalking! Undertaker pointed at J.R., saying it all started with him - J.R. was the one to get the first letter and the first tape. Undertaker wanted to know where the tape came from, and J.R. said he had no idea where the tape came from. As Paul Heyman interjected, Undertaker smacked him in the face! J.R. then told Taker to go ask Vince, since he knew everything there was to know! As Taker was about to go talk to Vince, another videotape played, with the mysterious voice saying that he could get to Sara anytime he wanted to!

Upon seeing the new tape, Undertaker quickly made his way to the back of the arena. He stormed into Vince's office and demanded answers! Mr. McMahon said he had nothing to do with anything, but he thought he knew who might know something! Vince said that the same person who rolled the footage of Sara might be the same person who ran the WCW logo earlier - Shane McMahon! Undertaker walked out of Vince's office, saying that if Vince is screwing with him, Taker would take the whole WWF and stick it straight up Vince's ass!

In the second King of the Ring Qualifying match, two former ECW Champions, Tazz and Rhyno, faced off. As the two men battled, eventually, Tazz lined Rhyno up for a Gore, which Rhyno kicked out of! Tazz then locked on the Tazzmission, but Rhyno broke the hold! Rhyno then lined Tazz up for a Gore, and picked up the win to advance in the King of the Ring tournament!

As Stone Cold prepared for his match against Chris Jericho, Austin expressed his concern about Mick Foley's surprise to his wife, Debra. He asked if she could go and try to find out what Foley's surprise might be. Debra found Mick, who only had one sock on, and asked him what his big secret was. Mick told Debra that he wasn't going to tell her, but he did give her an autographed copy of his book!

Elsewhere, Christian lamented to Edge about his lost chance against Kane. Edge told Christian that he could do anything he wanted to. Christian said that, in order to accomplish something on his own, he would enter the King of the Ring Tournament! Edge told Christian that he had already entered himself. The two went back and forth, telling each other, sarcastically, that it was great they were both in the tourney.

In a bra and panty match, Terri took on Trish Stratus. Trish went right after Terri, and ripped off her blouse. Terri then took down Trish and ripped off her shirt as well! The two women continued to battle, and Perry Saturn ran out to the ring wearing a robe! He entered the ring and flashed Terri, revealing that he was wearing a bra and panties himself! Terri looked on in shock as Trish pulled off her skirt, gaining the win!

The World Wrestling Federation Championship was on the line next as Chris Jericho challenged the champion, Stone Cold Steve Austin. Before the match, Mick Foley was announced as the special, outside-the-ring, toubleshooting referee! As Chris Jericho entered the ring, the Rattlesnake went right after him, not even allowing his to remove his Tag Team Championship belt. Austin tossed Jericho off the ropes, and Y2J grabbed the Texan and put him in the Walls of Jericho! Austin was able to break the hold by making his way to the ropes. The match spilled outside the ring, where Mick Foley demanded that Austin put Jericho back in the ring. Austin took one look at Foley and shoved Jericho into him, knocking the former commissioner down! Y2J stood up and shoved Austin into the ring steps! Jericho climbed into the ring, and Foley grabbed Austin and threw him in the ring. Stone Cold tried to climb back out of the ring, but Foley shoved him back in. As he lie on the mat, Jericho tried to hit a Lionsault, but Austin got his knees up. The Bionic Redneck stood up and put Jericho in a submission hold, and Y2J refused to give up. As Foley distracted the in-ring referee, Jericho hit Austin with a low blow. Jericho took Austin to the corner and started laying punches on him. Jericho went for the pin, but Austin kicked out!

Jericho then made his way to the top rope, where he hit Austin with a hurricanrana! Austin stood up and knocked the referee out of the ring! While the ref was knocked out, Y2J put Austin in the Walls of Jericho! Mick Foley got in the ring looking for the tap out, but then William Regal ran out to the ring! Regal attacked Foley, and Jericho stepped out of the ring to help him! Foley grabbed a chair and went after Regal, but hit Jericho instead! Regal put Jericho back in the ring, where Austin was able to hit him with a Stunner, gaining the victory!

After the match, Foley threw Regal into the ring, where Jericho put him in the Walls! As Regal tapped, Foley put Mr. Socko on him!
