"Then. Now. Forever." The WWE video leads us into the show.
The RAW video plays, and we're brought into the arena. Brock Lesnar's music hits, and the crowd immediately gets to their feet. Lesnar makes his way to the ring in a "Suplex City" shirt, which is customized for Indianapolis. Paul Heyman accompanies him to the ring. A replay is shown of Triple H introducing Lesnar as Seth Rollins' WWE World Heavyweight Championship opponent last week on RAW. They will face at WWE Battleground. Heyman grabs a microphone, and the crowd gives him a nice hand. A "Suplex City" chant breaks out. Heyman starts by saying, "Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Paul Heyman and tonight, as his advocate, it is my honor and my pleasure to give to you the official return to Money Night RAW of the beast, the conqueror, Brock Lesnar!" Heyman says for those who may be a first time viewer or have been wondering how RAW has survived without him, perhaps they'll take his suggestion and watch a refresher course of the last time Lesnar got his hands on someone on RAW. A video package highlights the events from the night after WrestleMania 31. Lesnar attempted to invoke his rematch clause, but Seth Rollins wound up denying him. Lesnar then assaulted Booker T, JBL, Michael Cole, and a cameraman. That led to Stephanie McMahon suspending him indefinitely.
Heyman says there is no mystery or cliffhanger here. How did he negotiate Lesnar's return to WWE? What they want from the unrepentant beast is an apology. Not in writing or in private. The demand for him to return is for him to apologize in public right here, right now, tonight. The crowd boos this. The crowd starts to chant, "No!" Heyman says if Lesnar does not apologize to Michael Cole and JBL, then he will not be allowed to return to WWE and will not get a title shot against Seth Rollins at Battleground. Booker T is away filming WWE Tough Enough. Byron Saxton is on commentary in his place. Michael Cole says this isn't necessary. Lesnar looks toward Cole and JBL. Heyman talks to him, and Lesnar gets out of the ring. Cole and JBL seem very nervous. Lesnar comes around the table to JBL and stares at him. Lesnar then extends his hand, and JBL shakes it. Lesnar then looks at Cole, who seems absolutely terrified. Lesnar comes around to him, and Cole is stuttering and not making eye contact. Lesnar shakes Cole's hand before giving him a headlock and a noogie. Lesnar then sits him down and asks if they're good. Cole says they are. Heyman says his client has complied with the terms and conditions for his return to WWE.
Heyman says it is incumbent on him to also offer a public apology in advance for what his client is going to do to that slimy, repulsive, repugnant, dirty, lousy, rotten, parasitic thief Seth Rollins, the champion who won the title from the challenger. Rollins has been protected in NXT from day one and protected by his brothers in The Shield. The Authority has protected Rollins as well for selling his long-term soul for the short-term gain for being listed in the history books for holding the title in 2015. When The Authority made the decision to sacrifice the future of WWE to the conqueror Brock Lesnar, that's what's "Beast for business." Rollins may think he's flying into Battleground on July 19, but all he has is a "one way, all expenses paid, first class ticket to Suplex City, bitch!" Heyman says all accommodations are not courtesy of Mr. McMahon and his billions. It is not courtesy of J&J Security, who beat Rollins, Kane, who wants to eat him, or the WWE Universe who are dying for someone to defeat him. They are courtesy of the conqueror of The Streak, the beast of Battleground, and the future reigning, defending, WWE Heavyweight Champion of the World, Brock Lesnar! Lesnar's music plays, and they leave the ring.

John Cena will return, next.
John Cena returns to Monday Night RAW
John Cena makes his way to the ring to his standard mixed reception. Cena looks like nothing ever happened to him. Cena holds up the WWE United States Championship and says it is a symbol of excellence and opportunity. Cena says he's damn proud to be the champion of the United States. The very opportunity that defines the title could be the opportunity that destroys him. There is a man named Kevin Owens. Owens is white hot and on a mission. His mission is to make and take opportunity by any means necessary. Owens defeated him at Elimination Chamber and got on the microphone to say his time was up. At Money in the Bank, after a hard fought battle, he offered Owens a gesture of mutual respect. Owens took that opportunity to put him out of commission. Last week on RAW, for reasons no one knows, Owens assaulted a 95-pound musician. Owens' focus is now on his latest opportunity to take the title from him. Owens is a great wrestler, but Cena thinks he's a garbage human being. Owens knows how much the title means to him and how embarrassed and humiliated he'd be if he had to hand the title over at Battleground to an individual he thinks is a dirt bag. Cena says he won the match, but not the war. If he accepts Owens' challenge, he may be signing up for a fight he just can't win.
Cena says he has a choice to make and asks the crowd what he should do. Cena suggests he could say no, which is fair. A few weeks ago, he wanted to face Owens for the NXT Championship and was told no. Cena could say no and still be the champion, but the champion of what? If he denies Owens' challenge, then everything Owens has said about him is true. Owens thinks Cena is a product of corporate America with jargon made by suits and ties. Cena says he'll do what a champion does: he'll fight, even if he's walking into a fight he can't win. If there's a message he's tried to hammer home, this title won't be decided by politics. Cena says, "May the best man win, and if you want some, come get some!"
Kevin Owens' music hits, and the NXT Champion walks out to the stage. Owens says he supposes he should be pretty upset about the things Cena has said about him, but he's not. One thing Cena will learn is that he doesn't put much value into other people's opinions. Owens says he really doesn't care about what anyone thinks of him. If he did, he probably wouldn't look the way he does. Over the years, he's been called out of shape and a slob. Cena just called him a dirt bag. This out of shape, slob, dirt bag beat him at Elimination Chamber and left him laying in the middle of the ring at Money in the Bank. Owens says Cena remembers that. The difference between them is Cena really cares about what the people think of him. What he cares about is winning titles. The minute he stepped foot in NXT, he took the NXT Championship. Now that he's here and sees how much the United States Championship means to him, he wants it. Owens heard Cena call it a symbol of excellence, and he agrees. Owens wants to make it a symbol of his excellence. For that to happen, they have to have a match. While that was a fine speech Cena made, he never said he'd give him a title match. Owens gets it. Owens wants something from him, so he'll give him something he wants and craves first. Owens says he'll give the crowd's approval. Owens wants to make sure the WWE Universe will cheer the mighty Cena and boo the evil foreigner. Owens then speaks French Canadian, and the crowd boos. Owens says he's almost sure about what Cena will say, but he still wants to know.
Cena says the people aren't indifferent to him because of where he's from or the language he speaks. They're indifferent to Owens because he's a disrespectful suckbag. Cena speaks French and then speaks Chinese. Cena then says he'll use some red-blooded heartland Indiana Americana. If Owens wants a fight, then he's got it. Cena says he'll kick Owens' ass. Cena finishes by saying, "The Champ is here!"
Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are seen talking about that backstage. Seth Rollins walks in, and Stephanie wonders if Brock Lesnar has him down. Rollins says it's Kane and J&J. Triple H says to screw them. Rollins never needed them. Rollins says The Authority is more than a business arrangement – it's family. Rollins says he feels like he's damaged the relationship. Now that he's on top of the world and crushed Dean Ambrose and will do the same to Lesnar, he wants the family back together. Kane and J&J didn't get it. Stephanie says considering the damage if he ever considered an apology. Rollins wonders if Kane and J&J would consider an apology. Triple H tells him to cut the crap. Rollins wants them back because he's afraid of Brock Lesnar. Triple H says they've invested a lot into him and made the match against Lesnar because they believe he's ready for it and can get the job done. Rollins is scared because he's smart. If he wasn't scared, he'd be an idiot. A smart man, no matter how confident, always has a Plan B. A smart man has backup and a foolproof plan. A smart man walks down to that ring. A smart man like Rollins walks down to the ring and apologizes. A smart man says the three little words that he's positive makes the whole thing go away: I am sorry. Stephanie tells him to be the bigger man. Rollins thinks about it and wonders what if Brock shows up. Stephanie says if he wants the band back together, he knows what he's got to do. Triple H asks how bad he wants the family. Rollins takes a deep breath and thinks.
