“Then. Now. Forever.” The WWE video leads us into the show.
A video kicks off the show highlighting Becky Lynch announcing that
she is pregnant and Asuka is the new Raw Women’s Champion.
The Raw video plays, and we go into the Performance Center. Tonight,
WWE Champion Drew McIntyre will battle King Corbin of SmackDown.
Charly Caruso is in the ring. When we went off the air last week,
Randy Orton issues a challenge to Edge. If that match happens, it
could be the greatest wrestling match ever. She introduces Randy
Orton to the ring. She asks Orton to explain his challenge. Orton
asks if a straight-up wrestling match is that hard to comprehend.
WWE stands for World Wrestling Entertainment. Wrestling is at the
basis of what they do. They work to get to WrestleMania. Orton and
Edge tore each other apart at WrestleMania, but it pains him to say
Edge was the better man that night. Edge is not the superior
wrestler. Orton is, and he’ll prove it. He doesn’t need tables,
ladders, chairs, or the last man standing. All he needs is a referee
and a ring. Athletes are dime a dozen, but an athlete can’t come and
do what they do. Athletes in WWE can’t do what Orton does in the
ring, including Edge.
Orton knows why Edge didn’t accept his challenge last week on Raw.
Orton saw it written on his face and in his eyes. Orton saw doubt in
Edge’s eyes. Edge’s grit and passion have faded away. What once was
grit and passion is now just doubt and fear.
Edge’s music hits, and he storms down to the ring. Edge says last
week, Orton spoke a lot of truths and gave him a lot to contemplate.
Edge knows Orton is playing a game of chess, so he couldn’t rush
into his next move. This is all it is to Orton: a game. Orton can
smirk at him all he wants. This is just a paycheck to Orton. Edge
gets it. Orton is quite possibly one of the most talented people
he’s seen in a wrestling ring, but this isn’t the life Orton wanted.
This was what Orton was handed. It was his backup plan. Orton is
different than all the superstars in the locker room because he
doesn’t care. Orton didn’t go to bed every night dreaming of being
WWE Champion like he did. Orton didn’t save his allowance to go to a
show every month like he did. Orton didn’t cry when he became
Intercontinental Champion like he did because it meant he would be
one of the best workhorses in the business. As a matter of fact,
Edge beat Orton for that title in 2004.
Orton tells him to cut it out, but Edge tells him to shut his mouth.
Orton never had a career ending injury or had to fight back for nine
years like he did. Orton doesn’t love the sport like Edge does.
Orton can say the best wrestler didn’t win at WrestleMania… Orton
cuts him off and asks if he’ll accept the challenge. Edge says,
“Yes, yes, I accept your damn challenge.” Orton looks pleased and
calmly leaves the ring.
Footage is shown of Seth Rollins digging Rey Mysterio’s eye into the
corner of the ring steps last week on Raw. Rollins seemed to have no
recollection of what happened immediately after.
Seth Rollins is looking contemplative backstage when Murphy walks up
to him. Rollins says he wants to tell the world something. We’ll
hear from Rollins, next.
-Commercial Break-
Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross will defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team
Championship against The IIconics later tonight.
Seth Rollins and Murphy make their way to the ring. Rollins says
sometimes in life you have to lose who you are to truly find
yourself. When he lost to Drew McIntyre at Money in the Bank, part
of him believed that he had lost everything. Rollins fell into a
dark place… a place so dark he wasn’t sure if he would ever escape.
Without darkness, there can be no light. Rollins has seen the light
and it’s brighter than he’s seen it before. That’s all thanks to one
man: Rey Mysterio.
What happened to Mysterio has been described as heinous, disgusting,
and unforgivable. It’s been described by others as an act of penance
paid to him for Mysterio’s disbelief in the Monday Night Messiah.
Rollins doesn’t see it that way at all. What happened to Mysterio
unfortunate but necessary. It was a sacrifice for the greater good.
Rollins used it to be the leader he was meant to be. Rollins wants
to take this moment to speak to Mysterio directly. Rollins knows
Mysterio is at home with his family right now and he’s healing.
Rollins knows that Mysterio can’t see it right now, but soon enough
he will come to realize that what happened to him was a blessing in
disguise. Rollins wants to say this to Mysterio from the bottom of
his heart so it doesn’t need to be said later: “Rey Mysterio, you’re
welcome.”
Humberto Carrillo interrupts Rollins. Carrillo asks Rollins if he
really believes people believe him. Mysterio is a hero to millions
and is his idol. All that Rollins is in this world is a coward.
Carrillo gets in the ring, but Murphy stands in front of him.
Rollins appreciates what Carrillo is doing by standing up for the
honor of his idol Mysterio. If Carrillo is out here to fight him,
he’s clearly not dressed for the occasion. However, his disciple
Murphy has a match later tonight against Aleister Black. Murphy is
dressed for the occasion. If Carrillo wants a fight, his disciple
would be happy to oblige.
-Commercial Break-

goes for a springboard clothesline, but Murphy gets a knee in the
face. Murphy connects with Murphy’s Law for the win.
Winner by Pinfall: Murphy
Murphy continues to attack Carrillo after the match and sends him
headfirst into the ring steps. Aleister Black runs down, and they
start to brawl. They get in the ring, and Rollins simply walks away
as this is going on. Murphy quickly gets out of the ring before he’s
hit with Black Mass. Murphy runs up the ramp to Rollins.
King Corbin is furious over the fact that he doesn’t have a locker
room. A stagehand runs off. A referee walks up, and Corbin complains
about smudges on his crown, how people expect him to get his own
food, and no one bows down. The referee just stares at him.

Liv Morgan talks about how her mother is her hero. She is her
mother’s daughter and will never quit, just like how her mother is.
A few weeks ago, she took on Charlotte Flair, but didn’t win. She is
determined to be the Raw Women’s Champion.
Footage is shown from last week on SmackDown. Charlotte Flair
accepted a challenge for a Champion vs. Champion match against
Bayley. Then she asked if Sasha Banks is happy being Bayley’s
lackey.
NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair makes her way to the ring. She
doesn’t want to bore everyone with her accolades, including being on
SmackDown last week. In fact, Bayley and her lackey… er, sidekick
Sasha Banks challenged her to a Champion vs. Champion match. Flair
will show her that there’s levels to being a champion. As for Ruby
Riott, she can come out and tell her what she has to say right now.

the second rope with a diving senton splash for a near fall. Flair
quickly knocks her away, but Riott comes back with a (sort of)
DDT/STO. Riott stretches out the injured hand, but Flair powers her
up, drops her down, and stomps away at her. Riott is kneeling, so
Flair goes for a big boot that wouldn’t have connected anyway. Riott
moves and rolls her up before going for a Riott Kick. Flair gets out
and applies the Figure Eight for the win.

Charly Caruso is backstage with Bobby Lashley. MVP walks up and says
he and Lashley will not be doing business together because he’s
dealing with clowns like R-Truth and his wife, Lana. Lashley looks
insulted. MVP says he saw what he did to R-Truth. What if he locked
the full nelson on the WWE Champion? We’ll never know. It’s been 13
years since he’s had a shot. Lashley doesn’t need the WWE
Championship. He has other trophies… like his trophy wife. MVP says
he’s not trying to cause trouble.

viking camp. The Viking Raiders make a big deal about them. They’ve

There’s no social distancing going on in this camp. Ivar grabs an
axe and hits the bullseye on a target. Montez Ford says they should

Kairi Sane is in the ring, which is decorated with a bunch of
balloons. Sane says they’re here to celebrate her friend, the new
Raw Women’s Champion Asuka.
Raw Women’s Champion Asuka makes her way to the ring. Asuka is
emotional as she accepts flowers from Sane. Asuka says thank you in
Japanese. Asuka says she’s so happy for Becky Lynch and to be Raw
Women’s Champion. Sane is crying. Sane says Asuka has been NXT
Women’s Champion, SmackDown Women’s Champion, WWE Women’s Tag Team
Champion, and now the Raw Women’s Champion. Sane says Asuka is a
Grand Slam Champion! Asuka celebrates being the second Grand Slam
Champion. Kairi Sane plays the recorder.
Nia Jax comes out and says there’s nothing to celebrate. Asuka was
handed the Raw Women’s Championship by Becky Lynch because she
couldn’t fight anymore. Lynch is on maternity leave, so Asuka lucked
into the greatest temp job ever. Soon she’ll be replaced by a more
worthy champion. Look at her compared to Asuka. There’s only one way
this goes down. When Jax becomes Raw Women’s Champion, they’ll have
a real party. Asuka attacks Jax and knocks her out of the ring with
a hip attack! Asuka shouts at Jax, who walks away.
Charly Caruso is backstage with King Corbin and asks if he has
doubts about facing Drew McIntyre. Corbin says McIntyre may be WWE
Champion, but he’s no king. Corbin carried McIntyre for over a year.
Drew McIntyre is seen watching elsewhere backstage. McIntyre is
dangerous and beat Brock Lesnar, but he has the ability to make
mistakes and slip up. He’ll beat McIntyre tonight. The next time he
climbs into the ring with McIntyre, it’ll be in the main event of
WrestleMania where he’ll take the WWE Championship.
WWE Champion Drew McIntyre will face King Corbin of SmackDown later
tonight.
