Smackdown

The O-rena, Orlando, Florida
January 6, 2000

The first SmackDown! of the new millennium kicked off from Orlando, Fla., with security posted all over the O-rena. The guards were informed to arrest Mick Foley on the spot should he trespass that evening.

In the DX locker room, Triple H said he was proud of what he had accomplished Monday night, winning the World Wrestling Federation Championship. But he was disappointed in his DX allies - X-Pac, Road Dogg and Mr. Ass - who had failed to defeat The Rock in the "You're Fired" Handicap Match. He promised punishments for each of the men; X-Pac would have to face the Big Show, Mr. Ass would have to face both Acolytes, and Road Dogg would get a special surprise. Triple H also said that he would defend his newly won championship against an opponent picked at random.

The Big Show, still steaming over his title loss Monday night, took out his aggression on X-Pac. The degenerate, who defeated the Big Show last week on SmackDown! due to DX's interference, was outmatched this time in a one-on-one environment. But luckily for X-Pac, the Big Show's temper got the better of him and the 7-footer chokeslammed the referee, ending the match.

Chris Jericho made his way to the ring with the other Intercontinental Champ, Chyna, telling her that teaming with her was a fate worse than death, and that he would do all the work against the Holly cousins. Indeed, Jericho tried to take on the Hollys all by himself, but after a spectacular variation of a suplex, Hardcore Holly pinned Y2J. The Intercontinental Championship belt, which came to the ring around Jericho's waist, left on Chyna's shoulder.

Continuing with the "Have a Bad Day" saga which began Monday night, "Mankind" made his way around Universal Studios in Orlando. He asked a kid if he wanted his autograph, but the kid started to cry and the kid's father asked "Foley" to go away.

Tori came into Stephanie's locker room and asked if she could use her bathroom. Stephanie said yes. Moments later, Road Dogg asked Stephanie where Triple H was, and Stephanie said the bathroom. Road Dogg peeked his head in the bathroom and saw Tori. Tori screamed as Road Dogg ran away, asking Stephanie why she lied to him.

In DX's next punishment, Mr. Ass took on both of the Acolytes. As the ass-kicking Faarooq and Bradshaw took it to the assman, Road Dogg made his way to the ring to even the odds. The match was thrown out as the two teams battled through the crowd, in a preview of their Tag Team Championship Match at the Royal Rumble.

Kane then confronted Stephanie, saying he wanted that "pervert" Road Dogg in a match, since Road Dogg had violated his girlfriend, Tori. Stephanie happily obliged. She then ruled that if Mr. Ass interfered in this match, he would be let go.

During the match between Kane and the D-O-double-G, X-Pac made his way down the entranceway, distracting the referee long enough to allow Road Dogg to score with a low blow and a DDT. But Kane rallied back, scoring with a chokeslam and a Tombstone for the pin.

"Mankind" continued his vacation at Universal Studios, boasting of his daredevil ways while on a boat ride. Saying he wasn't scared of anything, the imposter soon cowered in fear once Jaws attacked the boat!

Finally, The Rock came back to Orlando! His opponent? Kurt Angle, who was once again matched against a top talent at Triple H's behest. As Kurt made his way to the ring, he questioned why with all his accolades he wasn't the People's Champ. The Rock answered swiftly, telling the Olympic champ exactly where he could stick his medals. Steve Blackman made his way to the ring during the match, and when Rock grabbed Blackman's Kendo stick and whacked Angle with it, the referee called for the bell, keeping Angle's winning streak alive via disqualification. As Angle celebrated in the ring, Rock snuck up behind him and layed him out with the People's Elbow.

Stephanie promised the Dudley Boyz a bonus on Monday if they helped the Posse attack the Acolytes. They did so, and their bonus turned out to be a partnership with Al Snow, a gift which the Dudleys weren't too happy about. That trio took on Edge, Christian and Jeff Hardy. After a spear, Edge pinned D-Von.

Next up at Universal Studios, the "Have a Bad Day" movies continued, as "Mankind" tried to get on a roller coaster. When a park worker refused and called security, "Mick" ran away.

Test took on the Big Boss Man next. Prince Albert tried to interfere on the Boss Man's behalf, but wound up hitting the Boss Man with the bicycle kick by accident, allowing Test to score the win. Boss Man and Prince Albert had some words after the match.

Back at Universal Studios, "Mankind" saw the Back to the Future ride, and wished he could go back to Dec. 29, 1998 - the day he won his first World Wrestling Federation Championship - or March 15, 1982 - the last time his wife found him attractive and had sex with him!

As a gift to the Mean Street Posse, they were matched up against Kaientai for what was expected to be their first tag team win ever! But after a series of blunders - including Rodney executing the "High Society" on Pete Gas - Kaeintai pulled off the win when Funaki pinned Rodney.

Back in the locker room area, the World Wrestling Federation Superstars gathered for a random drawing to determine who would challenge Triple H for the Federation Championship. The first name they picked was "Andre the Giant," and the second was "Fabulous Moolah." Vowing he wanted a bona fide opponent, Triple H asked Howard Finkel to draw a name. But as the Fink approached the stage, he accidentally knocked over the bin with the balls in it! He then picked out the name "Rikishi"! As the entire group of superstars chanted "Rikishi, Rikishi," Triple H and Stephanie walked out in a huff.

The final "Have a Bad Day" segment aired next, as the fake Mankind was greeted by the real Mankind, who delivered a major-league beating at the Universal Studios theme park.

Rikishi sent Too Cool back to the locker room before his title match, vowing he would do it alone. What followed was one of the greatest title defenses in World Wrestling Federation history. The crowd was into every movement, as the match went back and forth. First battling outside the ring, the combatants assaulted each other from bell to bell. As Stephanie watched in horror from the broadcast position, Rikishi nailed Triple H with a sit-down splash, but was only able to secure a two-count. Soon after, Triple H rocketed Rikishi with a steel chair, but the "Game" could only secure a two of his own. Desperate, Triple H blasted Rikishi with the championship belt, getting himself disqualified. As the crowd chanted for Rikishi, Too Cool made their way to the ring to help the big man celebrate the biggest win of his career!
