PAUL BEARER ABDUCTED?

Paul Heyman boldly challenged the Dudley Boyz to "make an impact," and they did just that this week on SmackDown! Heyman, who is not officially employed by SmackDown!, apparently obtained a ticket to the show, and walked to ringside during the opening match, which pitted Rob Van Dam & Rey Mysterio against Bubba Ray & D-Von. Just when it appeared to be "the beginning of the end" for the Dudleys, Paul Heyman jumped over the guardrail, grabbed Mysterio's leg and pulled the San Diego native off the ring apron and down to the floor. After Bubba Day hurled Mysterio off the announcers' table, and then tossed him back into the ring, he was quickly covered and pinned by D-Von. Security tried to arrest Heyman, but the Dudleys grabbed him and brought him backstage.

There, Heyman insulted the Dudleys -- he even slapped D-Von -- and told them they shouldn't be content to merely win a match. He pointed out that in spite of all their victories, they weren't in the main event, weren't getting the title shots and weren't making all the money they could. He told them, "Pick a victim, and make an impact, even if that victim has to be me. Or I'll find somebody to make an impact on you."

Later, the Dudleys were spotted in the parking lot, throwing someone into the trunk of their car and driving away. An urn was left behind -- revealing that the Dudleys apparently selected Paul Bearer as their victim, much to the delight of Heyman.

Also on SmackDown!, General Manager Kurt Angle named a No. 1 contender to Eddie Guerrero's WWE Championship for The Great American Bash: John Bradshaw Layfield. JBL claimed that Eddie was "lying" last week when he suddenly collapsed, and in reality was just trying to avoid another beating like the one he got at Judgment Day. Layfield added, "At the Great American Bash, what I'm doing to do you is going to be damn near criminal." JBL also said that Angle is allowing him to pick the stipulation for their match at The Great American Bash. JBL said he was going to think about it and reveal the stipulation next week on SmackDown!

Angle also ordered Eddie Guerrero into one-on-one action this week, but Latino Heat's match with Danny Basham never officially got underway. Angle interrupted and said he had come to the realization that Eddie would probably "fake another injury and then sue me." So Angle said Guerrero wouldn't be wrestling at all until he signed a release form clearing Angle of any liabilities.
