WE HAVE A MATCH
Oct. 28, 2004
Before Thursday night’s SmackDown!, Booker T was little more than a slight
annoyance to WWE Champion JBL.
But before the main event in Omaha, Neb., was over, Booker T suddenly became a
much bigger problem.
With a spot opposite JBL at Survivor Series on the line, Booker T defeated JBL
Chief of Staff Orlando Jordan. After announcing that Booker T isn’t “in his
league” as a singles competitor, JBL will get a chance to prove it Nov. 14 in
Cleveland with the WWE Championship on the line.
Meanwhile, the seven remaining finalists for the $1,000,000 Tough Enough got a
rude introduction to the business during their first night on the job.
Each contestant was allotted 20 seconds to call out the Big Show, who moments
earlier had kicked the rookies out of the main lockerroom. Show then came out to
meet them face-to-face in the center of the ring.
Each one earned a body slam for their trouble, including an extra elbow and knee
to the chest for two of the competitors.
Paul Heyman’s quest to find the Undertaker turned out to be both successful and
terrifying all at once.
The manager of unstable Superstar Heidenreich found Undertaker at an undisclosed
and dark location. Heyman even managed to get his signature on a contract to
face his client at Survivor Series.
But before he could escape, The Phenom put his hand around Heyman’s neck and
promised that Survivor Series wouldn’t be hosting a match as much as it would be
the site of an execution.
Kurt Angle and Rey Mysterio had another exciting match that eventually turned
into a mess as Luther Reigns, Mark Jindrak, Rob Van Dam and Eddie Guerrero all
ended up interfering after the referee momentarily went down.
Guerrero would get in the last word with a Frog Splash on Angle, costing him the
match.
SmackDown! General Manager Theodore Long then met with all six Superstars back
stage and announced that he was sick and tired of all the interference lately.
As a result, Survivor Series will have some old school flavor with a 4-on-4
elimination tag team match:
Guerrero, Mysterio, RVD and partner of choice vs. Angle, Reigns, Jindrak and
partner of choice.
Well, it didn’t take long for Latino Heat to enlist Big Show as his giant
fourth.
Angle then had a meeting with Spike Dudley later on in the program. The Dudley
boss promised to help eliminate Angle’s 7-foot problem if, in turn, one of the
Dudleys was selected to join Angle’s team.
Torrie Wilson and Dawn Marie had a Halloween Costume Contest, but before the
fans could declare a winner, Miss Jackie stormed the ring and attacked Dawn for
her latest steamy speech about fiancée Charlie Haas.
United States Champion Carlito Caribbean Cool maintained he had nothing to do
with the incident in Boston involving John Cena. Carlito said he left the
nightclub as soon as Cena arrived.
Michael Cole announced Cena is making progress and his kidney would be saved.
Also, in his first match back, Chavo Guerrero defeated Nunzio and also managed
to avoid a Shooting Star Press from the reckless Billy Kidman, who was doing
commentary during the match.
MATCH RESULTS:
Chavo Guerrero defeats Nunzio
