CHAMP OF STAFF
MARCH 3, 2005
Being in JBL’s Cabinet certainly has its benefits.
While everyone in Albany, New York, thought JBL had already left the state
capital after being disrespected by the fans, the WWE Champion actually had no
intentions of ditching Chief of Staff Orlando Jordan on his big night.
Jordan, with some timely help from the Bashams and JBL himself, upset John Cena
to win the United States Championship Thursday. JBL re-entered the arena, came
through the crowd, snuck up near the ring apron and smacked Cena in the head
with the WWE Championship belt to ensure victory.
A still reeling Jordan and proud JBL mocked a stunned Cena as they left the ring
with his trademark spinning belt.
Of course, Cena is hoping to capture JBL’s WWE championship at WrestleMania 21
on April 3.
Meanwhile, another WrestleMania match got a little more interesting as RAW’s
Shawn Michaels, dressed as a cameraman, snuck up on Kurt Angle before his
invitational and attacked the Olympic Champ.
Michaels, who was seeking revenge for earlier this week on RAW when Angle beat
him down, was escorted from the arena, no doubt counting the days until
WrestleMania 21.
Eddie Guerrero & Rey Mysterio retained their WWE Tag Team Championship by
defeating Luther Reigns and Mark Jindrak. After the match, Reigns and Jindrak
continued a week-long argument, this one ending when Jindrak flattened Reigns
with a left hook.
Later in the show, Cruiserweight Champion Chavo Guerrero spoke to Rey Mysterio,
questioning Latino Heat’s loyalty to his partner.
In mixed tag action, Dawn Marie, apparently sick and tired of the new Divas
strutting their stuff, challenged Michelle McCool to a match. Dawn came out with
Rene Dupree, only to watch in horror as McCool selected Big Show as her partner.
McCool and Show rolled to victory.
Later, Funaki informed Show that Japan Sumo Grand Champion Akebono was
interested in facing WWE’s largest Superstar. Show said anytime, anyplace,
anywhere.
Booker T got his rematch with Heidenreich. Heidenreich, who clobbered Booker T
with a chair at No Way Out, once again brought a chair in the ring. But this
time Booker T used it against him, eventually hitting the lunatic with a DDT on
the chair.
Booker was disqualified for the action.
Also, SmackDown! General Manager Theodore Long wasted no time putting injured
Carlito to work, telling the man who nearly cost him his job to shovel snow in
the parking lot.
