MARCH 24, 2005
DANGEROUS DEBATE

This week, it was JBL who was forced to keep his cool, just 10 days away from WrestleMania 21.

SmackDown! General Manager Theodore Long arranged a debate between the WWE Champion and John Cena, the man he’s scheduled to face on April 3.

Of course, Cena is prohibited by Long from touching JBL. However, Long amended the rule this week, saying Cena could respond if physically provoked by the champion.

Otherwise, Cena would lose his opportunity to face the WWE Champion at WrestleMania.

As a result, Cena did everything in his power to provoke JBL, vandalizing his limo, destroying his expensive tie and hat, and even spray-painting “FU” on JBL’s chest.

None of it worked however; as JBL kept his composure and promised Cena he would get all he could handle at WrestleMania on April 3.

Meanwhile, a historic WrestleMania match was made when Rey Mysterio accepted Eddie Guerrero’s challenge.

Mysterio and Guerrero actually defended their WWE Tag Team Championship against Charlie Haas & Hardcore Holly before Mysterio agreed the Latino Superstars would indeed tear the roof off the Staples Center on April 3.

Kurt Angle stooped to a new low in his month-long mission to diminish Shawn Michaels’ career. This week, Angle came out to HBK’s “Sexy Boy” music accompanied by former HBK manager Sensational Sherri.

After mocking HBK’s outfit, music and dancing skills, Shawn Michaels himself appeared on the Titantron to introduce some classic footage of the Showstopper in action.

Sherri was visibly emotional after watching the montage, angering Angle, who slapped her in an ankle lock before a host of referees and officials could break the hold.

It also wasn’t a good night for Rene Dupree. Earlier, Undertaker gave everyone an ominous warning that there would be a sacrifice as he prepares for his match with Randy Orton at WrestleMania.

Throughout SmackDown! in Memphis, Tenn., the lights would flicker on and off, leaving everyone feeling a bit uneasy. Finally, during Dupree’s match with Booker T, Undertaker suddenly appeared in the ring and promptly chokeslammed and Tombstoned Dupree.

It was also announced that Big Show and Akebono would both be in Houston next week for their official Sumo Match weigh-in. Show prepped for his WrestleMania match by destroying Luther Reigns and then tipping over a 4,400-pound Jeep Renegade.
