Have
a Nice Day by Mick Foley Mick Foley's quest to
become a best-selling author began on October 20,
when his autobiography, "Have a Nice
Day!" was released.
"What is
truly amazing is that Mick wrote this book
himself, with no ghost writer, and it's a
masterful telling of his fascinating story,"
said Judith Regan, president and publisher of
ReganBooks. "He is a true Renaissance man,
and we are thrilled to be working with him."
Since the Foley
family does not own a computer or typewriter,
Mick wrote the entire book by hand. He got a
large portion of it completed during the
round-trip flight to England for April's No Mercy
Pay-Per-View. When he was recovering from knee
surgery this summer, he really picked up the
pace, cranking out 15,000 words a day.
Foley would send
in portions to be transcribed by Jennifer
Russell, an administrative assistant in the
licensing and merchandising department.
"Have a Nice
Day!" primarily deals with Mick's wrestling
career, beginning when he was 19 years old in
Long Island, N.Y. It takes us through his rise in
the business, from independents to WCW, Japan to
ECW and finally the Federation.
"For people
who want to know what compels someone to wrestle
in barbed wire and explosives, I take a good look
at that," Mick said. "
But I
also want people to know that it's not going to
be a puff piece. There are some guys in the
business that take it on the chin, but it's only
the people who deserve it."
The autobiography
features a 16-page color insert and more than 80
black-and-white photos, many never before seen.
