ECWLiving Dangerously
Danbury, Connecticut
March 12, 2000
The Pay-per-view broadcast began with an interview with the mysterious man in the devil red suit. He talked about ECW's seven deadly sins, such as Super Crazy being greedy for the ECW World Television Title. He mentioned the vanity of Dawn Marie, the gluttony of Big Sal E. Graziano, the sloth of Raven, who he called a "poor lost soul". Wrath, he did not want to discuss. He said Dusty Rhodes was an example of envy, referring to Steve Corino. He said Francine had lust for Raven. He promised this would be one hell of a show, and that anyone trying to compete with ECW would be Living Dangerously!
We then went live to the arena, where Joey Styles and Joel Gertner greeted the sold out crowd. Joel was interrupted after his introduction by Cyrus. He came to the ring and said he was "network" and "TNN". Cyrus berated Joel for his intro, saying the network was disappointed in him. Cyrus told him to step aside and let him handle the PPV. Joel informed Cyrus that this was an ECW production, not a TNN network production. Joey applauded Joel as he insulted the TNN employee. Cyrus threatened to beat up Joel right there if he didn't leave, and Joel seemed more than up for the fight. Joey cheered Gertner on, but Cyrus suddenly backed off on his challenge. Cyrus said he didn't realize it meant so much to Joel, then started to leave, only to blindside Gertner with a kick. He pounced on Joel, but Joey pulled him off as the show began!
After the opening highlight reel officially started the show, we went to the ring, where Steve Corino and Jack Victory, in cowboy hats, were standing center ring. Corino insulted the crowd, and Victory pointed out the Sandman's wife, Peaches, who was sitting in the front row. Corino went to ringside and hurled insensitive comments at her. Corino then turned his attention to the Sandman's children, but went right back at Peaches, who slapped Corino in the face. He grabbed her and flung her into the ring. Rhino joined them, and he and Victory held Peaches for Corino, when the Sandman hit the ring. He was overwhelmed, and Rhino piledrove the Hardcore Icon. Then, with Victory holding her in position, Rhino gored Peaches through a table! Security poured into the ring, as we are off to a brutal start to the show. Sandman looked enraged, while Peaches was obviously in great pain. Sandman carried her to the back, and demanded that security get his children.
Bullrope Match
Steve Corino
vs Dusty Rhodes
-Corino and Victory got back
in the ring, and called out Dusty Rhodes. It's Dusty vs. Corino
in an "Old School Bullrope Match". Both men were to be
joined at the wrist with a thick Bullrope, with a steel cowbell
tied to the middle. Corino was hesitant to tie on, but a quick
bionic elbow, but him down long enough to tie him on. Corino
tried to exit the ring, but was unable to, and took a bell shot
to the head. Dusty took the battle outside, brutalizing Corino
with the bell and grinding it into his forehead. The American
Dream took the fight into the crowd, as Corino was now bleeding
from the head. Corino finally fought back, and with help from
Jack Victory, took his shots at Dusty. Dusty hit a bionic elbow,
and dragged Corino all over the O'Neill Center. This was a brawl,
and soon both men were wearing the crimson mask. They made it
back to ringside, and Corino worked over the veteran with the
cowbell. Back in the ring, Corino stomped Dusty then choked him
with the rope while Victory slid in a chair. Corino bent Rhodes
over the chair, and went to the second rope, only to be pulled
off and sent head first into the steel seat. Dusty then ripped
the bell across the arm of Corino. Dusty wacked him with the
bell, and Corino begged off in the corner, then threw a few
punches, followed with a bell shot. Corino wedged the steel chair
in between the turnbuckles, but had his plan backfire, as Dusty
sent him into it, followed by a bionic elbow. They traded
punches, and Corino hit a bionic elbow of his own. A second bell
and a roll of tape were thrown in by Victory, but referee H.C.
Loc, who wanted revenge for being attacked by Corino on TNN a few
weeks ago, stopped him. Together, they taped the bell to Corino's
head, and Dusty plastered him with a chairshot. Dusty followed
with the big elbow and scored the victory!
We learned that Peaches (Lori Fullington, Sandman's wife) was being taken to the hospital, and that Sandman had accompanied her. Cyrus said that meant Sandman was going to have to forfeit his match to Rhino, who would then move on to the finals of the ECW World Television Title tournament via a bye.
Little Guido and Big Sal E. Graziano were up with an interview for the tournament, with Sal saying that the FBI were not to be considered jokes, and promising victory over Super Crazy.
CW Anderson and Billy
Wiles vs Danny Doring and Roadkill
Back to action, where Lou E. Dangerously was in the ring with his
Dangerous Alliance of C.W. Anderson and Beautiful Billy Wiles.
Lou took the mic and said he had a very important announcement to
make. He said he was the only man with enough guts to name a PPV
after himself. The opposition for the Alliance is the team of
Dastardly Danny Doring and Amish Roadkill, along with Elektra. A
female fan threw herself at Doring as he walked down the aisle,
but Elektra pulled him away from her. Doring and Roadkill had the
early advantage, but The Alliance worked well together to battle
back. Roadkill hit a top rope clothesline on both men, and Doring
hit the bareback on Anderson. The Alliance went to the floor, and
Doring used Roadkill as a springboard to launch himself at both
men. Doring got caught in Wiles tilt-a-whirl slam, then tagged in
Anderson, who hit a hammerlock slam for a two count. Doring and
Anderson traded chops, and then Anderson hit a driver for a two
count. The Alliance tried to cut off the ring, and keep Doring
from making the tag. Doring hit the G-Spot sweep on Anderson and
made the tag to Roadkill. Roadkill cleaned house, but got dumped
to the floor by Anderson. The Alliance hit a slingshot into a
superkick on Doring, as the match degenerated into a brawl.
Doring hit Wham Bam Thank You Ma'am on Anderson, but Willes broke
up the pin. Doring and Roadkill hit the Lancaster Lariat of Lust
on Wiles, then Doring dropped the top rope leg, but when Roadkill
went up for the splash, Elektra tripped him, crotching him on the
top! The confusion allowed Anderson to hit the spinebuster on
Doring for the pin. Elektra left with the Alliance, and it looks
like they've got a new Director of Covert Operations.
We heard from the Impact Players, who are looking to take back "their" ECW World Tag Team Championship tonight in the Three Way Dance.
World Title
Mike Awesome vs Kid Kash
Simon Diamond, accompanied by his personal assistant, Mitch, and
The Prodigy, Tom Marquez, came to the ring. Tonight, Simon
takes on Kid Kash, who came so close to advancing to the
semifinals of the ECW World Televsion Title tournament.
Simon, started to say he had a problem, but was interrupted by
Judge Jeff Jones, who brought out a much bigger problem, the ECW
World Heavyweight and World Tag Team Champion, Mike Awesome.
Awesome informed both men that they had a choice, either
leave and live, or die. Simon and Co. retreated, while Kid
Kash unwisely charged the champion. Awesome threw Kash
around like a rag doll, and went for a pinfall after a splash.
Kash kicked out at two and we have an unscheduled
match! Awesome sent Kid to the floor, and continued his
assault. Battering the youngster from pillar to post, Kash
somehow managed to backdrop Awesome into the front row, then hit
a springboard plancha into the crowd. Jeff Jones went after
Cash, but was hit with a drop down piledriver. This allowed
Awesome to recover and hit a slingshot clothesline. Kash
went to the air again, and hit a rana on the champ, but Awesome
took his head off with a lariat and then hit an Awesome
Bomb. Mike Awesome sent a table into the ring, as Jeff
Jones was still out at ringside. With the table set up in
the ring, Awesome laid him out, and went to the top rope.
Kash got up and met Awesome at the top, but the champion, in an
incredible display, delivered a one armed Awesome Bomb from the
top rope, driving Cash through the table. Awesome then
pinned Kash to retain the title in this impromptu
defense.
Gedo and Jado
vs Chris Chetti and Nova
Jazz came out to help Kid Kash, but was attacked by Gedo &
Jado who were being led by Simon Diamond. Chris Chetti and
Nova ran in, and the tag match is on. Simon, having seen
his enemy Jazz get attacked, left the area, and it's
two-on-two. Gedo and Jado sent Nova and Chetti to the
floor, but Nova got back in, hitting sledge-a-matic on
Gedo. Chetti tagged in and hit an axe kick on Gedo, then
made another quick tag. Nova hit a reverse powerbomb on
Gedo, after an assist by Chetti, for a two count. Gedo and
Nova switched waistlocks, but Gedo sent him into a Jado
lariat. Jado went after Chetti, taking the fight to the
floor. With Chetti deposited in the crowd, the FMW stars
doubleteamed Nova, hitting a surfboard / axhandle combo.
Jado chopped Nova in the corner, but Nova hit a reverse elbow and
went to the top. Jado crotched him, and delivered a back
superplex from the top rope for a two count. Gedo tagged in
and went for a rana, but Nova turned it into a powerbomb and
struggled to make the tag. Chetti came in, and hit a
vicious German Suplex on Jado. He hit Gedo with one, then
went back to Jado, using a backslide for a two count after a Nova
superkick. Gedo hit a kick of his own, then Jado and Gedo
hit their double team top rope powerbomb from the top on
Nova. The action continued, with Nova somehow getting a
senton bomb on Jado, while Gedo hit a splash on Chetti for
dueling two counts. All four men went at it, with Chetti
hitting Amityville Horror on Gedo. With Jado outside the
ring recovering from a Nova flying kick, Chetti and Nova were
able to climb to the top rope and hit the splash/legdrop combo
for the win in this incredible match.
We went to the back where Lou E. Dangerously and Elektra had unkind words, not only for Danny Doring, but Paul Heyman as well. Elektra pledged her allegiance to Lou E., saying Paul and Danny had never done anything for her.
TV Title Tournament
Little Guido vs Super Crazy
It's now time for the ECW World Television Title tournament
semifinal, as Little Guido takes on Super Crazy. They started out
fast, and Guido caught Crazy with an elbow to the groin. Crazy
took the fight to the outside, but Big Sal went after Crazy, only
to be sent over the rail. Crazy then hit a top rope Asai
moonsault into the crowd, hitting both men. Back in the ring,
Guido managed a rocker dropper, but only got a two count. Guido
got caught in a sunset flip style powerbomb from the second rope,
and they went back to the floor. Guido caught the Fujiwara
armbar, but it was on the floor, so there could be no tap out.
Sal E. dropped Crazy across the rail, then sent him back in the
ring. Crazy went for another springboard, but Guido caught him
with a clothesline. Guido got a chair, but Crazy got possession,
hitting Guido with it, then climbing to the top rope for another
shot. Guido kicked out, but was now bleeding. Crazy pounded Guido
in the corner, then did the same to Sal E., as the fans counted
along in Spanish. Crazy leaped off Sal, but was caught in the
face with Guido's feet. Sal handed Guido his belt, which he used
to whip Crazy. Guido whipped Crazy to the ropes, but the luchador
came off with a swinging DDT. Crazy now had the belt, but was
stopped by Guido. The FBI member hit a second rope rocker
dropper, while Sal E. prepared a table. Crazy was laid out and
Guido climbed atop Sal's shoulders. He came off with an elbow,
but Crazy moved and Guido went through the wood alone. Crazy hit
an unbelievable rana on Sal, then covered Guido for a two count.
Crazy went for a head scissors, but was caught in a reverse
powerbomb. Crazy came back with a powerbomb of his own, into the
remnants of the table, then hit the top rope quebrada moonsault
for a two count. Crazy finally delivered a brainbuster, and that
was enough to get the win.
It will be Super Crazy vs. Rhino in the finals for the ECW World Television Title.
We then got to see a preview of the ECW video game, Hardcore Revolution, as Joey Styles defeated Cyrus with a crucifix seated powerbomb. Cyrus didn't seem amused with that particular video game result.
Kintaro
Kanemura vs Balls Mahoney
-International warfare, as Kintaro Kanemura of FMW and the
Hardcore Chair Swingin' Freak, Balls Mahoney, bring their feud to
the United States. They went right at it when the bell
rang, with Kanemura hitting a baseball style dropkick to the
face, and a slingshot splash for a two. Kintaro went up and
hit his Senton Splash from the top, but Balls kicked out.
Kanemura was caught in the Ball Breaker, and Balls hit the Nutley
Jam for a two count. Balls went up, but was caught with a
superplex. Balls took a chairshot, but showed no
effects. He hit a lariat, then the Nutcracker Suite on a
chair for the pin. Da Baldies hit the ring, and Balls was
laid out on a table in the aisle. Grimes went to the top
rope, and put Balls through it with a suicidal senton.
"Natural Born Killaz" hit and the Original Gangsta hit
the ring. New Jack had his weapons, and went right to work
on his enemies. Weapons tonight included a Sony
Playstation, which you can also use to play Hardcore Revolution
on. Angel took a guitar shot, but Grimes got New Jack from
behind and sliced his forehead open with a pizza cutter.
Jack fought back by biting Grimes, then hit him with a snow
shovel. They fought to the floor, and the brawl continued
into the crowd. This was psychotic, with them battling all
over the building. Grimes got an advantage and put Jack on
the table. He then set up a second table over the
Gangsta. Grimes started to climb the scaffolding, but Jack
recovered and joined him at the top. We've got an impromptu
scaffold match, with two tables stacked below them! Grimes
went for a powerbomb, but was blocked, and New Jack jumped off
the scaffold with Grimes in his grasp, sending them both off the
scaffold through the tables! They both crashed to the
floor, with Grimes landing on Jack! Grimes was carried to the
back by security, while Jack was being attended to by medical
technicians.
Tag Team
Titles
Mike Awesome and Raven vs Tommy Dreamer and Masato Tanaka vs The
Impact Players
-Time for the Three Way Dance,
as the ECW World Tag Team Champions Mike Awesome and Raven defend
against The Impact Players and Masato Tanaka & Tommy Dreamer.
Justin Credible & Lance Storm, with Jason and Dawn Marie,
came to the ring first. Storm said they didn't care about Tanaka
and Dreamer, they cared about the belts. The champs came out,
with Francine, and the war was on. Awesome hit a tope onto
Credible and Jason, while Raven hit the drop toe hold into the
chair on Storm. He pulled the snot rag out and used it on Lance,
as Tommy Dreamer and Masato Tanaka came out. Dreamer hit a DDT on
Raven, but Awesome broke it up. The Impact players went to work
on Tanaka, and soon we had an all out brawl. Dreamer hit a
bulldog, but the action wasn't allowing anyone to make an early
cover. Dreamer set up a table in the ring, but Raven drove
Dreamer into it with a drop toe hold. Tanaka stopped the pin, but
was then taken down with an Awesome clothesline. Tanaka and
Awesome now had the ring to themselves, and Tanaka hit a belly to
back suplex into a table propped in the corner. Tanaka hit the
roaring elbow, and pinned Mike Awesome to eliminate the
champions. We will have new champions tonight. Credible hit
Tanaka with a cane shot, and the Impact Players went to work on
Dreamer. Tommy was bleeding from the forehead, as Justin hit a
swinging DDT for a near fall. We've settled into a standard tag
match, with Storm blasting Dreamer with a dropkick. Justin tagged
back in, as Dreamer was quickly becoming a bloody mess. Justin
hit a pull out powerbomb from the corner, as Dreamer needed to
make a tag. A miscue saw Justin hit a superkick on Lance, and
Dreamer DDT'd Justin, and tagged Tanaka. Masato cleaned house,
and hit a double stunner on Storm and Jason, who tried to
interfere. Credible and Tanaka fought at the top, and Dreamer
assisted in a top rope variation of Diamond Dust for a two count.
Dreamer went for a Spicolli Driver, but was caned by Justin.
Tanaka hit Diamond Dust on Justin, but was piledriven by Storm.
Dreamer piledrove Lance, but Justin came out on tope of it all,
hitting a spike piledriver with the aid of Lance to get the final
blow. Storm covered Dreamer, and we've got new ECW World Tag Team
Champions in the Impact Players, as Cyrus went to the ring to
congratulate his "boys."
TV Title
Super Crazy vs Rhino
-After celebrating with the Impact Players, Cyrus stayed in the
ring to bring out Rhino for the ECW World Television Title
tournament final. Rhino came out, accompanied by Steve
Corino and Jack Victory, as Cyrus continued to rant about his
power in the network. He was finally interrupted by ECW
Executive Producer Paul Heyman, who had heard enough.
Heyman was joined by Joel Gertner, who asked Paul to go back and
run the show, since he had unfinished business with Cyrus.
Gertner said that tonight, Cyrus, Rhino and TNN would go
down. With that, Super Crazy hit the ring, hitting Rhino
with a springboard dropkick in the ring, and a somersault senton
out of it. Crazy got caught in another moonsault attempt,
and Rhino planted him. Rhino was backdropped to the apron, then
dropkicked off to the rail. Crazy hit a slingshot plancha,
and whipped Rhino towards the rails, but had it reversed.
Crazy flew into the front row, as Rhino went to get a
table. Rhino threw Crazy back into the ring, and got a two
count with a suplex, followed with a flapjack. Rhino
pressed Crazy, then dropped him face first through the table at
ringside. Back in the ring, Rhino could only get a two
count. The rookie monster hit a vicious powerbomb, but
Crazy again kicked out at two. Jack Victory passed in
another table, which Rhino propped in the corner. He went
for a powerbomb, but Crazy flipped out. Rhino went for the
gore, but Crazy leapfrogged him and Rhino went headfirst into the
table! Crazy scaled the ropes and hit a flying body press
for a near fall. They both got up, but Rhino hit a
lariat. Rhino went for the bomb again, but Crazy turned it
into a DDT, then hit the three consecutive ascending
moonsaults. However Rhino pulled the referee in front of
the third one, knocking him out. Yoshihiro Tajiri ran in,
spewing the green mist and kciking Crazy. They tied him to
the tree of woe, and were brutalizing the Extreme Luchador.
Suddenly, "Respect" blared, and ROB VAN DAM, on the
shoulders of Scotty Riggs, and wearing the football jersey of the
late Bobby DUncam Jr. came to the ring. Scotty battled
Tajiri, while RVD hit Rhino with a crutch. Rhino felt
nothing, and charged Van Dam, only to be given a hot shot into a
table. Crazy then sent to the top rope, hit a
moonsault and scored the pin to win the ECW World Television
title! Rhino then went berzerk, goring RVD, Riggs and
Crazy. Corino, Victor and Tajiri joined in, beating on all
three men, as well as Bill Alfonso. Then, "Enter
Sandman" came out over the PA, and the Sandman
returned! He blasted Rhino in the head with three cane
shots, sending him from the ring. The Sandman, Rob Van Dam,
Scotty Riggs, Bill Alfonso and the new ECW World Television
Champion, Super Crazy stood tall in the ring and celebrated with
a few cold ones.
