The pay-per-view broadcast began with Jerry Lynn talking about how he promised to be a fighting champion tonight by putting his title on the line in a Double Jeopardy match. We then heard from the three contenders that would challenge him for the gold. Justin Credible, The Sandman, and Steve Corino. All three men have their sights set on the same goal, the ECW World Heavyweight Championship.
We then went live to the ring, as Joey Styles and Joel Gertner welcomed us to the show. Joel, once again, used an introduction we just can't reprint here. Simon Diamond, unexpectedly, came down to the ring, saying he had a problem. Simon wanted to know what it took to get his name mentioned here. He reminded us of his partner Swinger's broken orbital bone (suffered at the hands of York & Matthews), and how that has never been mentioned. He then took credit for ending Tommy Dreamer's career. Simon then insulted Joel, who responded by saying he didn't understand why Simon had a problem with him. Joel said he was very entertaining, and was supportive of him.... then called him an undercard joke. Simon attacked Gertner, and Joey jumped on Simon's back with a sleeperhold! Swinger hit the ring, but Joey backed off, and Joel was left alone with Swinger and Simon. Suddenly, the Innovator of Violence, Tommy Dreamer, hit the ring and began cleaning house! C.W. Anderson was close behind, however, and attacked Dreamer, putting an armbar on his injured shoulder. This brought out York and Matthews, who went right at it with Swinger and Simon, hitting Swinger with a double powerbomb, and delivering a baseball slide to Simon. The bell rang, and we've got a match! Simon and Swinger were on the defensive early on, but Simon and Swinger isolated Matthews outside the ring and took control. Simon hit the Simon Series and got a two count, then tagged in Swinger, and they hit a double legsweep on the youngster. Christian York tagged in, and was a house of fire, hitting a slingshot back elbow on Simon, and a facefirst powerbomb on Swinger. Cyrus appeared on commentary, calling play-by-play and color! Swinger and Simon managed to ground York's highflying, but Matthews came in to even things up. Still, the odds were not in their favor, as Swinger distracted the referee, and C.W. Anderson hit the ring, taking out York with a left hand, and hitting a spinebuster on Matthews, which then set him up for the Problem Solver and the win by Simon and Swinger.
Post match, Simon, Swinger and Anderson worked over York and Matthews, until Kid Kash appeared! The former ECW World Television champion hit the ring, and then dove out of it, taking out all three men at once. We've got another impromptu match, C.W. Anderson vs. Kid Kash. Kash took Anderson down with a series of hiptosses, and when Anderson retreated to the floor, Kash leaped over the top rope and hit a rana on the floor! Anderson was deposited in the crowd, and Kash then used a chair to launch himself over the rail into a leg lariat. Joey Styles now joined Cyrus in the announcing booth. Kash used a chair, then rolled Anderson in the ring for a two count. Kash went for a double springboard rana, but Anderson caught him with an exploder suplex. Anderson chopped Kash, and hit a flying armbar. Anderson then took control on the floor, driving Kash shoulder first into the rail and ringpost. Anderson then brutally threw a chair at Kash, crushing his arm between the steel and the ringpost. Back in the ring, Anderson applied a shoulder stunner, then leaned back with the armbar. Anderson continued to work on the shoulder, but Kash came back with a springboard spinning senton, catching C.W. with his fist on the way down. Anderson hit his left hook, but Kash managed to kick out at two. A series of reversals ended with another Anderson shoulder cutter. Kash went for a rollup, was shrugged off, then the two traded reversals for two counts, until they decked each other with simultaneous clotheslines. The two then battered each other as they rose to their feet, and Kid set up Anderson for the Money Maker, which was blocked. Kash walked the ropes and hit another rana, then went to the top, but got crotched. Anderson chopped Kash, then delivered a long superplex for a two count. An ECW chant broke out for the incredible move. Kash came right back with a rollup, but Anderson matched him with a small package. Kash went for another springboard, but Anderson ducked and hit the spinebuster, but Kash still kicked out at two! Kash hit a kick, and went for the Money Maker, but Anderson backdropped out of it. Kash, however, landed on his feet, bounced off the ropes, and hit a swinging DDT for the win. Kid Kash wins our second unscheduled match of the night!
Well, maybe now we can officially start the pay-per-view! After the Extreme opening, it's time for out first official match of the evening, although even this has been changed due to the unscheduled events that began the show. Out came Hot Commodity, EZ Money, Julio Dinero, Elektra, and "Confederate Currency" Chris Hamrick, who apparently is substituting for Simon Diamond now. Out next was Dastardly Danny Doring and Roadkill, but their scheduled partner was supposed to be Kid Kash. This was supposed to be a six-man tag team match, but it looks like Doring and Roadkill will have to battle two on three. Hamrick took the mic, and said this was unfair, but then joined in on a three on two beating. Roadkill was lifted by Money & Dinero, and Hamrick delivered a springboard dropkick. Suddenly, "Highway to Hell" blared, and out came Commissioner Spike Dudley, who tossed off the jacket and ran to the ring. Little Spike Dudley is back!
Spike cleared the ring, sending Hamrick painfully through the ropes to the floor. Danny Doring his Hamrick with a pescado, then Dinero dove onto the pile with a tope. Money was next out, hitting a somersault senton. Spike climbed to the top rope, and topped the pile with a flying bodypress. In the ring, Roadkill planted Hamrick with a powerslam, and dropped an elbow from the corner. Money ran in, but was also the victim of a powerslam, followed by Doring's top rope elbow. Dinero then felt the sting of a triple team Lancaster Lariat of Lust. Things settled down into a tag match, with Doring getting tripped by Elektra and hit with the Money Clip clothesline. Money delivered a released suplex into a powerbomb, then worked Doring in their corner while Spike tried to get in. Doring and Dinero traded punches, and Dinero hit a modified shoulderbreaker, then hung him on the ropes for Hamrick's guillotine legdrop. Doring fought back and hit the G-Spot sweep on Hamrick and finally made the tag to Roadkill, who went ballistic on all three opponents, and hitting a Barnburner on Money and the Dirtroad slam on Dinero. Hamrick used a chair from the floor to hit Roadkill, but he fell forward and tagged Spike. Dudley came in, but had his knee clipped out from under him. Everyone began battling, and Spike managed a victory roll on Money for a two count. Spike went for the Acid Drop, but had it blocked by Dinero, who fed him to Money for a powerbomb. Doring fought Dinero and Money, until Roadkill took them out with a top rope clothesline. Elektra ran in, and was given the Bareback for her troubles by Doring. Roadkill then grabbed Hamrick in a reverse powerbomb, and Spike grabbed Hamrick on the way down for a devastating double team Acid Drop. 1-2-3, Spike pins Hamrick and gets the win in this wild bout!
We then heard from the ECW World Television Champion Rhino, who promised to do things to New Jack tonight that we really cannot reprint here on ECWwrestling.com.
Time for former partners to go at it, as Chris Chetti, with Lou E. Dangerously, takes on Nova. Chetti and Lou came to the ring first, and Dangerously wasted no time in insulting the fans here at The Odeum. Chetti then made the bold challenge that the winner of the match would remain in ECW, and the loser would have to leave, since this company wasn't big enough for the two of them. Loser leaves ECW tonight!
Nova hit the ring, hit a jawbreaker, and dumped Chetti to the floor, but missed the pescado. Chetti whipped Nova into the rail, but missed on a charge and rammed his own head into the metal. Nova then went to work on the now bleeding Chetti. In the ring, Nova applied a crucifix for a two count, then, when a Kryptonite Krunch attempt failed, applied a crossface chicken wing. Lou E. hooked Nova's foot, and Chetti his a superkick. The two traded reversals, and Chetti was whipped into a chair that was wedged in the ropes by Lou E. Chetti took the chair in his lowerback, and appeared to have reaggravated his old back injury. This was all a ruse, as Lou snuck in to lowblow Nova, and Chetti followed with a rocker dropper. Chetti hit a sidekick on Nova, and got a two count. Nova was now bleeding as well. Chetti hit a long suplex, and again only got a two count. Nova stopped short on a backdrop attempt, and went for a backslide, then the Spin Doctor. Chetti blocked the move and hit Nova with his own Novacaine for a two count. Not to be outdone, Nova then hit Chetti with his own move, the springboard sidekick. Nova went ballistic with punches, but Lou E. gave Chetti a chair, and he cracked Nova with it. However, it only further enraged him, and he again attacked Chetti, punctuating his attack with a enzugiri. Nova then hit a double underhook rocker dropper, but Lou pulled Chetti's foot over the ropes. Nova gave Lou a baseball slide kick, then rolled up Chetti in a small package for a two count. The two traded reversals, until Nova went for the Third Degree, hitting two consecutive rolling piledrivers. Lou E. ran in and hit Nova with his cell phone to stop the move, but Nova still kicked out. Nova and Chetti then battled on the ropes, with Lou getting kicked down when he tried to intervene with a chair. The two continued to struggle on the top rope, when Nova delivered a Kryptonite Krunch from the top rope! Nova then pinned the unconscious Chetti to get the win. Nova wins, and Chris Chetti, due to his own stipulation, must leave ECW.
New Jack then had his time to talk about Rhino, and not only promised revenge on the monster, but to take the ECW World Television Title as well ... and sell it!
Now it is time for the first ever Flaming Tables match on pay-per-view. No pinfalls, no submissions. The match can only end when one man is put through a flaming table!
Da Baldies, Angel and DeVito, were first in the ring, then out came their opponents, Balls Mahoney & Chilly Willy. This will be a war. Chilly, in an act of confidence, wasn't wearing a shirt for this match! Balls and Chilly hit the ring and went at it, with Balls hitting a Ballbreaker on Angel, and Chilly giving DeVito a falcon arrow. Balls then grabbed his chair and blasted both Baldies, then went for a table. They got it in, but Da Baldies were up, and soon the fight was on the floor. Angel and Chilly fought into the crowd, then Balls backdropped DeVito onto them, and followed him in. All four men now battled through the crowd, as an ECW chant rang out in The Odeum. Chairs and trashcans became weapons, as they continued to brawl. Chilly and Angel started fighting up the bleachers and over the entranceway, many feet above the floor! Balls and DeVito were up there as well, and DeVito almost went over, while Angel and Balls battled through the crowd. Chilly and Angel made it to the ramp, and Angel was suplexed on it. Chilly hit a spinkick, but Angel fought back and clocked Chilly with a chair. Chilly was slammed on the ramp, while a bloody Balls, and bloodier DeVito also made their way towards the ring. Angel was whipped into the guardrail by Chilly, and Balls hit DeVito with a chair. Two chairs were set up, facing each other on the floor, and Chilly got ready to slam Angel, but the Kingpin stopped him and powerbombed him through the chairs onto the floor! Balls was then hit with a DeVito chairshot and sent into the ring. With Chilly down on the floor, Da Baldies worked on DeVito, but Balls managed to kick DeVito and DDT Angel. DeVito then hit Balls with a dropkick, and went to the top rope. Balls crotched him, then hit the Nutcracker Suite from the second rope. Angel came in with Balls' chair, but Chilly Willy grabbed it away, and Balls gave Angel the Nutcracker Suite as well! A table was set up, and Balls and Chilly soaked it with lighter fluid. DeVito had rolled to the floor, and Angel was left alone in the ring. The table was set ablaze, and Balls powerbombed Angel through the flaming table to get the win. Balls Mahoney & Chilly Willy win the Flaming Tables match!
As fans at home watched a replay of the powerbomb, here at The Odeum, Angel was helped out by DeVito as the fans gave him a standing ovation.
We then saw an interview, filmed earlier today, with the Sinister Minister, Yoshihiro Tajiri and Mikey Whipwreck, talking about how "thankful" they are that they will have the chance to win the ECW World Tag Team Championship from the FBI tonight. We have just learned, allegedly, that the FBI was involved in the Sinister Minister's "accident" earlier tonight. More details on that when they become available.
It is time for the ECW World Television Title to be defended. The champion, Rhino, came to the ring with a steel chair. The challenger, New Jack, came with a whole shopping cart of weapons, and was chewing on a ... baby pacifier? Rhino went at him with the chair, but missed, and the Original Gangsta hit him with a trashcan and a Bears football helmet! Jack continued his assault, using a pool cue across the champions back. Jack then choked the monster with a chain, and blasted him with a street sign, sending Rhino crashing to the floor. Jack whipped Rhino into the rail, sat him in a chair, then dove off the apron with the street sign. New Jack brought a table in the ring, but Rhino hit Jack with a metal sign, and took the table and propped it in the corner. Jack thumbed Rhino in the eye, then hit a clothesline. Jack delivered a snapmare, placed a pan on his groin, then bashed it with the broken pool cue. Jack went for the scythe, but Rhino hit him in the gut, and followed with a clothesline for a two count. Rhino rammed Jack into the turnbuckle, but Jack reversed a whip and hit him with the trash can. He went for another shot, but Rhino pulled the referee in front of him, and the ref took the blow. Jack then pulled out the staple gun. Danny Daniels ran in, and New Jack turned and stapled him in the head. Jack battered the crooked, and now bleeding, referee, and dumped him to the floor. This allowed Rhino to recover, and he planted New Jack, but missed a top rope splash attempt. Jack grabbed a guitar and blasted Rhino with it. Rhino, incredibly, absorbed the blow! Jack was amazed, and Rhino scooped up the Gangsta and drove him back first through the table in the corner. Rhino made the cover, and got the pin to retain the ECW World Television Title.
We went backstage, where we found Steve Corino and Jack Victory in Sandman's locker room. Corino was emptying Sandman's beer, but Victory was holding the wrong door shut, and the Hardcore Icon walked in on them, and started brawling with Corino. They will be matched up in the Double Jeopardy match later tonight.
It is now time for the ECW World Tag Team Championship rematch, as The FBI, Guido Maritato & Tony Mamluke, with Big Sal E. Graziano, will face Mikey Whipwreck & Yoshihiro Tajiri, who will not have the Sinister Minister to help them tonight. Mikey started with Mamaluke, and the two exchanged holds in the ring and on the mat. Mamaluke went for several quick pin attempts, until a headscissors was turned into a sideslam by Mikey. Mike gave one to Guido, then tagged Tajiri in for a flapjack, double gutbuster and double dropkick to the head of Mamaluke. Guido tagged in, and he and Tajiri went for a test of strength, but Guido and Tajiri instead went into a series of reversals and counters, with neither man getting control. Tajiri offered a handshake to Guido, then kicked him in the gut. Mikey gave Guido a slingshot guillotine legdrop, then, with chairs on either side of Guido's head, dropkicked him with Tajiri. Guido went down on the table hard, and when Mamaluke tried to help, he was dropped gut first on the rail. Mikey went to the top rope, but was caught by the FBI. Mikey came out on top though, and leaped off the top rope with a double Whippersnapper on both men! Mikey appeared to hurt his shoulder on the move, but still dodged Big Sal's splash, which Mamaluke had to take. We then had a pause in the match, as Mikey appeared to have seriously hurt his shoulder. The match was halted, and Mikey was fitted with a neckbrace and put on a stretcher. Mikey was carted away, and Tajiri was left to fight alone. He blew the green mist at Mamaluke and started fighting, but was soon placed in a Fujiwara armbar, then a camel clutch/Sicilian crab combo.
Suddenly, Super Crazy hit the ring!
Crazy backflipped in and dropkicked Guido, then went about cleaning house, including his three consecutive ascending moonsaults on Mamaluke. Guido was kicked by Tajiri, who then fed Mamaluke for a flapjack by Crazy. Mamaluke was tied to the Tree of Woe, and Tajiri hit the dropkick to the face. Guido tossed a chair into the ring, but it backfired, and Tajiri blasted him, busting him open. Crazy then held the chair in front of Guido's face and Tajiri dropkicked it. Tajiri chapped Guido, but Guido locked in a reverse Fujiwara armbar, as Crazy has now substituted for Mikey. Mamaluke tagged in and hit Tajiri with a belly to belly overhead suplex, then continued to work on the arm. Guido tagged in ad hit the Sicilian Slice. Tajiri tried for his handspring elbow, but Guido countered it, and a series of reversals ended with a Tajiri superkick. Mamaluke ran in with a clothesline, but Tajiri hit the handpspring elbow on both men and tagged Crazy. Springboard moonsault on Guido, and a springboard dropkick on Mamaluke, who was then hit with a Tajiri kick/Crazy powerbomb combo. Guido broke it up, but was given a swinging DDt by Crazy. On a roll, Crazy hit Mamluke with a spinkick, but his Asai moonsault was stopped by Mamaluke. Mamaluke was tossed into the crowd by Crazy, but Big Sal intervened, and was soon fighting Crazy in the crowd. Tajiri was in the ring battling both Guido and Mamluke, while in the crowd, Crazy moonsaulted off the entranceway 15 feet high, and landed on Big Sal. However, Tajiri was in the ring applying the Tarantula, which left him open to a double team bulldog, and Guido covered Tajiri for the pin. Crazy may have taken the crowd's breath away, but the FBI take home the ECW World Tag Team Championship.
The crowd chanted "Welcome Back" at Super Crazy, and Yoshihiro Tajiri shook the hand of his longtime rival.
We then had a friendly reminder from Jasmin and The Blue Boy about the incredible (and "squeaky clean") pics we have here on ECWwrestling.com!
It is now time for our main event, Double Jeopardy for the ECW World Heavyweight Title. Jerry Lynn will battle Justin Credible, while Steve Corino goes at it with the Sandman, in the same ring, at the same time. The two winners of that bout will then face off, with the winner emerging as the champion. You can only earn a victory over your assigned opponent in the first half of Double Jeopardy.
First out was Justin Credible, who was accompanied by the Queen of Extreme, Francine. Next out was his assigned opponent, the ECW World Heavyweight Champion, Jerry Lynn. The King of Old School, Steve Corino followed, accompanied by Dawn Marie and Jack Victory. The Sandman had not entered the ring yet, so Justin and Jerry began exchanging chops, while Corino watched from the corner. Jerry and Justin immediately exchanged pin attempts, until Corino got involved and hit the bionic elbow on Lynn. Lynn now had to deal with Credible and Corino taking shots at him. Corino then fired a punch at Credible, and soon everyone was punching it out, until Lynn bulldogged both of his adversaries. Lynn stomped Corino and choked him with his boot, but Credible then caught him with a punch. Credible and Corino started stomping Lynn together, when "Enter Sandman" hit. The Sandman, three time former ECW World Champion has arrived, and was in the crowd amongst his fans, enjoying some pre match beers, while Jerry Lynn, now busted open, was being battered in the ring. Sandman finally made his way to the ring, just as Credible accidentally hit Corino with a forearm shot meant for Lynn. Lynn kicked Corino in the corner, then the Sandman got in and caned Lynn and Credible. Sandman pulled out another beer, but Corino slapped it out of his hand. He got a cane shot for his trouble, and Jack Victory got one too. Sandman hit Corino again, then Lynn and Credible, who was a bloody mess, started hitting him. Corino was hit with a tornado DDT by Lynn, and rolled to the floor to fight Sandman, who legdropped him across the guardrail. Jerry Lynn was planted with a sidewalk slam in the ring by Credible for a two count. Sandman went to the back and pulled out a ladder, while Lynn and Credible traded chops. Credible hit Lynn with a boot to the face, while Sandman tossed Corino back in the ring, and propped the ladder in the corner. Corino was whipped into the ladder, then Sandman set it up again and whipped Credible in. Sandman went to do the same to Lynn, and pulled off the trifecta. Sandman decked Corino, and tossed Lynn and Credible to the floor. Sandman set the ladder on the ropes, and suplexed Corino onto it, then got a two count. Sandman put the ladder on Corino, then delivered a slingshot somersault senton splash for a two count, while Credible and Lynn chopped each other on the floor. Sandman went to the floor, then tossed Credible into the ring, while Lynn whipped Corino into the rail. Sandman bulldogged Credible into the ladder, then got a length of guardrail into the ring, while Lynn blasted Corino with a chair. Lynn and Sandman punched it out on the floor, and Lynn tossed him upside down into the guardrail. Corino set up several chairs in the ring, and placed the guardrail on them. The Sandman rolled in, as an ECW chant broke out. Sandman then suplexed Corino, with both men crashing into the guardrail. Lynn and Credible rolled back in, as Sandman covered Corino for a two count. Lynn and Credible reversed tombstones, with Lynn finally getting the move. Francine stopped the three count, and Dawn Marie ran in, but Corino ordered her from the ring. This distraction allowed Sandman to cane Corino. Lynn then decked Sandman, but was hit with a double superkick by Credible and Corino. Credible then hit That's Incredible on Lynn, while Corino reversed a White Russian Legsweep into the Old School Expulsion on Sandman. Two covers, two pins. Jerry Lynn and Sandman have been eliminated. It is down to Justin Credible and Steve Corino for the ECW World Heavyweight Title.
Credible and Corino traded blows, then hit the bionic elbow on Justin. Corino went to drop the big elbow, but only got a two count. Credible backdropped Corino, who landed on Jerry Lynn, who was on the floor. Lynn took the opportunity to bash Corino before tossing him back in the ring. Justin chopped Corino, but Justin was sent over the top to the floor, and the Sandman hit a legsweep on him into the guardrail. Corino set up a table, and when Credible returned, they resumed chopping each other. Credible hit a low blow, then the two collided as Corino came bounding off the ropes. They traded reversals, and Corino hit a vertical suplex through the table. Corino covered, but only got a two count. Francine came in, and Justin pulled her in front of Corino's superkick, knocking her out. Corino grabbed Credible in the Old School Expulsion, but Justin kicked out. Credible came up with a snap mare and a superkick for a two count. Credible grabbed his cane and brought it down across Corino's back. Credible went for That's Incredible, but Corino floated over and hit the Old School Expulsion. Suddenly, Dawn Marie ran in and hit Corino with a low blow! Jack Victory confronted her, and she gave him a low blow as well! Justin took his cane, and blasted Corino three times with it, blood flying off his head after every shot. Suddenly, Corino ducked, hit a perfect superkick, and got the pin. Steve Corino then covered Justin and got the three count. The winner and new ECW World Heavyweight Champion is the King of Old School, Steve Corino!
Jerry Lynn stepped into the ring, and handed the belt to Corino, then made it clear that he would be challenging him for the belt, as he slapped Corino across the face before walking out of the ring.
We then closed the show on pay-per-view with an action packed recap of the show, accompanied by "Turn Me On Mr. Dead Man" courtesy of Farmclub.com.
Here at the Odeum, Steve Corino took the microphone and thanked the fans. He said everything he's gone through was all worth it to become the ECW World Heavyweight Champion. He then thanked his mom, who had flown in as a surprise to see this match. Corino then dedicated his win to his son, Colby Corino, and walked away with his title belt.
