A video package runs focusing on how
tonight kicks off the road to Wrestlemania where one man will make history. The
video continues focusing on 40 stars competing in the Rumble this year adding,
"For over two decades, the Royal Rumble match has featured 30 superstars
battling to headline Wrestlemania. Tonight, the tradition is taken to a whole
new level. 40 will enter. 1 will be left standing. 1 will earn the opportunity.
Who will headline Wrestlemania? Who will be the 1?"
A graphic opening hits welcoming us to the 24th annual Royal Rumble. We go live
to the sold out TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts as a huge pyro display goes
off.
WWE World Heavyweight Champion Edge is out first to kick off the show. Video is
played from Smackdown on Friday where Vickie Guerrero announced that if Edge
uses the Spear tonight, he is disqualified and Dolph Ziggler will be awarded the
title.

Before the match, Vickie Guerrero reiterated the stipulation and introduced
Dolph Ziggler. Tony Chimel did the official ring introductions for the
challenger Dolph Ziggler and champion Edge.
Lock up and Edge hits a quick knee. Edge with a few more elbows and Ziggler
fires back with a few right hands. Edge launches Ziggler into the corner and
drops a quick knee. Ziggler with more offense on Edge including some big stomps.
Ziggler drops a big elbow across the chest of Edge over the ring apron. Ziggler
turns the same to the back of Edge's neck after turning him over. Edge with a
catapult into a pinfall for a two count. Ziggler responds with a quick reverse
neckbreaker for a two count as well. Ziggler with a jumping elbow drop over
Edge's chest. Ziggler launches Edge off the ring apron into the ring barricade
on the outside. Ziggler tosses Edge back in, goes for a pinfall and Edge kicks
out after two. Ziggler applies a headlock on Edge. Edge fights out to his feet
and the two meet in the middle of the ring hitting a double crossbody. Edge
fires back with a big jumping clothesline. Ziggler goes for the fameasser, but
Edge reverses in mid air into a sitdown powerbomb. Edge goes up top and Ziggler
cuts him off jumping up with him. Edge knocks Ziggler off, connects with a
crossbody, but Ziggler reverses into a pinfall for a close two count. Ziggler
with a standing dropkick and another two count. Edge counters a Zig Zag attempt
and locks on a modified Sharpshooter. Ziggler is able to get to the bottom rope.
Edge misses a body splash on Ziggler against the ropes and Ziggler hits the
fameasser. Ziggler in for the cover and Edge gets a shoulder up after a close
two count. Ziggler can't believe it. Edge catches Ziggler with a big boot. Edge
starts to lean down for a Spear, but realizes he can't do it. Ziggler attempts a
sleeper, but Edge counters into a DDT. Edge hooks the leg and Vickie Guerrero
pulls the referee out. Vickie starts yelling at Edge and slaps him on the ring
apron. Edge with a rollup on Ziggler when he almost runs into Vickie. Ziggler
kicks out after two. Vickie slaps Edge. Kelly Kelly walks out and slaps Vickie.
Kelly Kelly then takes out Vickie. In the ring, Ziggler hits the Zig Zag on
Edge. Ziggler goes for the cover and Edge barely kicks out after two. Ziggler
with a sleeper on Edge. Referee bump when Edge tries to break free. Edge drops
Ziggler in a stunner to break free. Vickie is still down. Edge backs up in the
corner and hits the Spear on Ziggler. Edge stays down when Ziggler goes down.
The referee recovers. Edge sits up smiling. Edge hits the Killswitch
(Christian's finisher) on Ziggler and gets the pinfall.

After the match, Vickie Guerrero recovers and screams, "Noooooooooo!" Edge is
handed the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and holds it up high in the corner
as he takes a look at the Wrestlemania 27 logo hanging in the arena.

Backstage, WWE Champion The Miz talks about how his title reign has been full of
lies. He said there is a reason he is a champion and why people like Randy Orton
or even Tom Brady are not.

Justin Roberts did ring introductions for the challenger Randy Orton and
champion The Miz.
Randy Orton tosses The Miz out early and throws him into the padded ring
barricades. Orton levels Miz on the outside with a quick clothesline. Back in
the ring, Orton stomps over Miz. Orton catapults Miz into the bottom rope. Orton
with some big right hands dropping Miz in the corner. Riley interfered dropping
Orton against the ropes without the referee seeing. Orton recovers with a big
clothesline on Miz after bouncing off the corner. Miz fights back with big left
hands and knees to Orton in the corner. Miz with his corner clothesline, quick
cover and Orton powers out after two. Riley with another cheap shot. Riley high
fives Michael Cole at ringside. Miz with a big knee to the gut as Orton came off
the ropes. Miz follows that up with a big boot to the jaw, another cover and
Orton gets a shoulder up after two. Miz with a knee to the face on Orton and
goes into headlock right away. Orton breaks free, but then takes a big boot from
Miz. Miz goes up top and Orton crotches him. Orton with a big superplex on Miz.
Miz with left hands, Orton with right hands, Orton with clotheslines and Orton
drops Miz over his back. Miz counters Orton's DDT attempt through the ropes and
tosses him over the top rope to the outside. Miz drives Orton back first into
the ring barricade. Miz does the same to Orton against the ring. Miz is back up
top and connects with a sledgehammer, cover and Orton kicks out after two. Miz
mounts Orton, hits some big lefts, another cover, Orton kicks out, more left
hands from Miz and the referee pulls him off. Miz applies a modified Crossface.
Orton breaks free and rolls to the outside. Orton kicks Miz and looks to hit a
powerbomb on the floor when Miz counters and catapults Orton into the steel ring
post. Miz rolls back in and the referee starts the count. The referee gets to 8
when Orton rolls back in and jumps on Miz hitting a big Lou Thesz Press with big
right hands. Orton with a series of clotheslines and a big snap powerslam. Orton
stomps over The Miz, drops a knee, goes for a cover and Miz kicks out. Orton
with a kick to the gut. Riley jumps up and Orton chases him away. Miz drops
Orton over his knee and hits a reverse neckbreaker for a close two count. Orton
with a turning slam on Miz. Miz rolls out, grabs the WWE Championship, Orton
rolls out and drops Miz with a huge clothesline. Orton tosses Miz back in the
ring and chases off Riley. In the ring, we miss Miz dropping Orton with
something that resulted in a two count. Orton with a close rollup for a two
count. Orton with his DDT using the ropes on Miz. Orton is ready to hit the RKO
waiting for Miz to get up when members of the new Nexus walk down minus CM Punk.
The referee gets out to make them leave. Riley is in the ring. Orton grabs him
and tosses Riley over the top rope into Nexus. Orton with an RKO on Miz. CM Punk
is in the ring and hits Orton with the GTS. Punk puts Miz over Orton and leaves
the ring. The referee counts the pinfall.

After the match, Michael Cole is jumping up and down at ringside clapping for
The Miz. We see a replay of all the events leading to the finish. Back live,
Orton is recovering as The Miz and Alex Riley head up the ramp as the new Nexus
looks on.

Backstage, Todd Grisham has a public statement from Cody Rhodes. Rhodes said
tonight was supposed to be his night, but because of Rey Mysterio, he now has a
shattered face and Mysterio has yet to apologize or reach out to him.
Video airs of WWE asking fans in Boston who they think will win the Royal
Rumble.
Laycool and Natalya are now in the arena. Before the match starts, the Raw GM
has something to say. Michael Cole asks the Boston crowd to excuse him. The GM
is changing the originally scheduled handicap match to a fatal four way: Natalya
vs. Layla vs. Michelle McCool vs. Eve Torres.

Natalya (c) vs. Layla vs. Michelle McCool vs. Eve Torres
Lots of double teaming by Laycool early on against Natalya. Natalya catapults
Layla into McCool. McCool pulls Layla out of the ring. Layla clotheslines
Natalya on the outside. McCool kicks Eve off the ring apron. Layla and McCool
then have a stare down. Natalya trips up Layla. Eve is back in and goes for a
rollup, but it gets broken up. Natalya dumps McCool to the outside. Layla and
Eve are knocked down on top of each other by Natalya. Natalya locks on a double
Sharpshooter. McCool breaks it up with a kick to Natalya's head. McCool covers
Eve for a two count. Layla with a reverse neckbreaker on Eve. Natalya with a
double clothesline on Laycool. Natalya with a suplex on McCool and hits Layla
with right hands. McCool takes out Layla with a bit boot by accident. Natalya
with a rollup for a two count. Natalya throws McCool out. Eve tosses Natalya
out. Eve goes up top and hits a moonsault. Eve covers Layla, while McCool rolls
up Natalya. Both get a three count. The referee awards the match to Eve.

After the match, they show the replay of the finish.
Backstage, Josh Mathews is with Daniel Bryan talking about the Royal Rumble
match. Bryan said anything is possible in the Rumble. The Bella's walk up and
say they were caught by surprise last week. They give Bryan and Gail Kim
flowers. The Bella's then insult Kim saying Bryan must be into certain kinds of
girls since they are way better looking. The Bella's and Kim have a cat fight.
Wrestlemania 27 is 63 days away.
