“Bash At The Beach” opens up with a graphic paying tribute to the
fallen Rocky Johnson, R.I.P. to the legend.
The stage is set up with a beach theme along with a bunch of bikini
clad females.
AEW Tag Team Titles #1 Contenders Fatal 4-Way
“The Sweeper” Kenny Omega (2-0) & “Hangman” Adam Page (1-0) vs.
Proud-n-Powerfull (0-0) vs. The Best Friends (0-0) vs. The Young
Bucks (0-0)
Trent and Nick Jackson kick things off. They each try to run over
the other with shoulder blocks with Baretta taking Nick down. Nick
comes back with a Springboard Lucha Armdrag but misses a Superkick.
They both miss a series of martial movies flick like strike attempts
and then stare each other down.
Page and Taylor tag into the match and Page quickly puts Taylor in a
side headlock and then follows up with a Fall Away Slam. Matt
Jackson and Omega tag into the match and the two stare each other
down as this is the first time that members of The Elite have had to
face each other in AEW. Before they can tough, however, PNP attack
both of them.
Santana tags Nick as Ortiz drags him in the corner and he connects
with a series of forearms and chops on Omega. Santana sends Omega
into the ropes where Nick blind tags him. Omega hits a Tilt-A-Whirl
Backbreaker on Santana and Nick comes flying in with a Springboard
Missile Dropkick.
The Bucks and Omega hit some triple team action on Ortiz as he tags
himself in and Page looks a bit annoyed. Trent tags himself in and
eats a Double Hip Toss followed by a Double Dropkick from The Bucks.
They whip Trent into the corner and Matt hits a series of Rolling
Northern Lights Suplex, but Baretta counters a fifth one with a
Tornado DDT out of the corner.
Taylor tags in and hits a Belly-to-Belly Suplex on Matt followed by
a Sliced Bread and a Pop-Up Powerbomb for a nearfall. Ortiz broke up
the pin attempt but then got dumped to the floor. Trent tags back in
and they connect with a Half-and-Half/Soul Food combo. They go for
the hug but PNP attacks them from behind.
PNP go to work on Nick and connect with a German Suplex into a
Cutter followed by a series of Superkicks and then a Suplex and a
Standing Shootng Star Press. Ortiz hits a Tope Con Giro onto a bunch
of guys on one side and Santana hits a Somersault Plancha onto
others on the other side!
Ortiz hits Matt with a Snap Suplex followed by a Slingshot
Somersault Senton from Santana. Santana hits the Three Amigo’s on
Matt and caps it off with a Delayed Vertical Suplex, tagging in
Ortiz and then handing Matt off to him before dropping Matt.
Matt is able to avoid a double team move from PNP and connect with a
Spear to Santana, but before he could tag out Ortiz takes out Nick
on the apron. Matt hits a Springboard Stunner on Santana and
reluctantly tags Omega.
Omega runs into an elbow from Santana but connects with a Snap
Dragon! Trent tags Santana and then goes for a Tornado DDT, but
Omega counters into another Snap Dragon! Omega hits a Fireman’s
Carry Slam followed by a Shooting Star Press from Page and then a
Diving Moonsault from Omega! Page then hits a Diving Moonsault onto
Ortiz on the floor!
Ortiz knocks Omega to the floor and hits a Somersault Plancha onto
him and Page on the floor! Taylor and Nick Jackson both dive onto
the pile, as well! Matt goes up for a dive of his own but Taylor
cuts him off and then Superplexes him onto the pile of humanity!
In the ring, Trent hits a Flying Knee to Omega and goes for a Strong
Zero but Omega blocks it and attempts a Suplex. Taylor comes in and
cuts Omega off but Page stops a Double Suplex attempt. The Bucks and
PNP come in now and a gigantic Suplex Chain is attempted by everyone
as the referee gets knocked down. Orange Cassidy comes in and helps
the pile as the biggest suplex in wrestling history is hit!
Best Friends hit Double Spike Piledrivers on Omega and Page and then
hit the Strong Zero on Omega but The Bucks break up the pin attempt
following it. Taylor and Matt Jackson square up and exchange
strikes. Page runs in and kills Taylor with a Lariat but Taylor
nails him with his own Lariat.
PNP double team Trent and Santana dives off his partners back with a
Cannonball on Taylor! Nick with a Superkick to Ortiz and then a rana
attempt but Ortiz blocks it with a Liger Bomb! Matt kills PNP with
Superkicks but Page avoids a Superkick attempt. Taylor hits him with
a big knee and then he eats a Superkick Party from The Bucks!
The Bucks go for a Meltzer Driver but Trent tosses Nick to the
floor. Page tags himself and sends Nick Jackson crashing to the
floor. Omega hits a V-Trigger on Taylor and then he and Page hit a
V-Trigger/Buckshot Lariat combo for the pin!
Winners: Page & Omega via pinfall (V-Trigger/Buckshot Lariat)
—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-
DDP was shown stretching and doing DDP Yoga during the break.
Cody Rhodes comes down to the ring and addresses the stipulations
that MJF has demanded, which also appear on the scream. Cody says
he’s thinks MJF is afraid that fans will think MJF should be
carrying Wardlow’s bags – not the other way around – when they
finally see him in a match, so he wants to make him face Cody in a
Cage Match right off the bat.
Cody says he has no issues with that or the lashes. “I don’t need to
touch you until Revolution, Max, because I live rent free inside
your head every day,” Cody says about the final stipulation. Cody
says that MJF is stalling.
Cody makes fun of MJF’s rich childhood and says he clings to all of
the “old timers” that boost him up by saying he is an “old school
heel.” Cody says that less is more for MJF because he doesn’t have
more.
Cody accepts all of the stipulations and says that he failed as a
mentor to MJF but he can give him one final lesson when he gives MJF
his “own god damn scar.”
—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-
Joey Janela backstage says the only way Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford
can get themselves over is at his expense. He says he feels like he
got in his balls all year last year but next week he faces Rey Fenix
one-on-one and he has something to prove.
The Nightmare Collective (Brandi Rhodes & Mel) (0-0) w/Luther
vs. Kris Statlander (0-1) & Hikaru Shida (0-1)
Luther tries to stop Shida from getting in the ring as Rhodes and
Mel double team Statlander, but Shida lays him out with a kendo
stick. Mel tosses Shdia around the ring as she gets in the ring.
Shida answers with a Hurricanrana that sends Mel to the floor and
Statlander hits her with a Moonsault off the apron!
Shida sets up a chair at ringside and dives off of it with a Flying
Knee to Mel. Statlander tosses Mel back in the ring and the
babyfaces hit a Double Dropkick. Shida gets a two-count and follows
up with a Vertical Suplex attempt, but Mel blocks it and shoves
Shida into the ropes. Brandi distracts Shida allowing Mel to hit a
Big Boot.
Mel hits a Leg Drop and tags Brandi into the match for the first
time. She kicks Shida and covers her for a nearfall. Brandi chokes
Shida and they double-team her before Mel does the heel ghost tag.
Mel chokes Shida in the corner and then slams her to the mat by the
hair.
—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-
Mel gets another nearfall as we come back from break. She attempts a
suplex but Shida blocks it and goes for one of her own. Mel blocks
it and hits a Forearm Smash. She hits the ropes but runs into a
Flying Knee from Shida.
Brandi and Statlander both tag in and Brandi begs Statlander off
only to eat a Roundhouse Kick and a Spinning Lariat. Statlander hits
a Michinoku Driver but Mel breaks up the pin attempt. Shida dives
off the top with a Missile Dropkick to Mel sending her to the floor.
Mel tosses Shida into a guardrail and Brandi Spears Statlander for a
nearfall. Mel tags into the match and hits a Black Hole Slam for
another nearfall. Mel goes to the top but Shida cuts her off and
climbs up with her. Shida hits a big Superplex and Statlander hits a
Running Knee for a nearfall.
Shida kicks Mel in the head and Statlander connects with a Standing
Moonsault for a nearfall before Brandi breaks it up. Shida tosses
Brandi to the floor and Mel blocks a Tombstone attempt and then
shoves Statlander into Shida.
Mel goes for a Tombstone but Statlander counters into a Big Bang
Theory for the pin.
Winner: Statlander via pinfall (Big Bang Theory)
A Dark Order vignette airs with the group talking about recruiting
Brandon Cutler and Adam Page to the group. They point out the
tension between Page and The Elite in thinking they could get him to
join.
—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-
“The Spanish God” Sammy Guevara (2-0) vs. “The Death Rider” Jon
Moxley (1-0)
The winner of this match faces the winner of tonight’s Main Event in
a #1 Contenders Match next week.
Moxley drives the GT Ford into the arena. Guevara dropkicks Moxley
as he comes into the ring and lights him up with chops. Guevara
leaps over a charging Moxley but then walks right into a Lariat.
Moxley hits a Snapmare Takeover followed by an Elbow Drop for a
nearfal.
Moxley chokes Guevara in the corner but eats an Enziguri followed by
a Springboard Cutter! Moxley rolls to the floor and Guevara follows
him with a Fosbury Flop! Back in the ring, Guevara taunts Moxley and
eats a uppercut followed by a Running Knee and then a Release
Vertical Suplex for a nearfall.
Moxley goes for a Paradigm Shift on the apron but Guevara blocks it
and hits a Pump Kick. Guevara goes to the top and dives off with a
Meteora on Moxley on the apron! Guevara throws Moxley into the ring
steps and then taunts him in the ring.
—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-
Guevara leapfrogs Moxley but then Moxley grabs him and attempts a
German Suplex only for Guevara to land on his feet and hit a
Shooting Star Press for a nearfall. Guevara rolls Moxley up for
another nearfall but then walks right into a Dirty Deeds for a
nearfall after Moxley ducked a series of kick attempts.
Moxley pulls Guevara up to the top rope for a Super Paradigm Shift
but Guevara blocks it and then hits a Spanish Fly! Guevara goes for
a TKO but Moxley counters into a Paradigm Shift attempt. Guevara
blocks it and hits the GTS! 1…2…NO Moxley kicks out!
Guevara goes to the top for a Moonsault but Moxley catches him in
midair with a Rear Naked Choke for the submission!
Winner: Moxley via submission (Rear Naked Choke)
Chris Jericho’s music hits and then the lights go out. When they
come back on the rest of The Inner Circle appear in the ring and put
the boots to Moxley. Jericho uses the World Title to whip Moxley
with it as Jake Hager holds him down. Hager knees Moxley in the
groin and then Jericho pulls a spike off his jacket and stabs Moxley
on the head. Moxley sells it like he was poked in the eye.
—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-
Backstage Jericho says what happened is Jon Moxley’s fault. He says
that Moxley signed his own death warrant last week, and called it an
“eye for an eye.” He says they’re going to keep an eye on him from
now on. He says they are going to do the same thing to Jungle Boy
next week for ever crossing them.
Six-Man Tag Team Match
MJF (0-0) and The Butcher & The Blade (0-0) w/Allie &
Wardlow vs. Diamond Dallas Page, QT Marshall (0-0) and “The Natural”
Dustin Rhodes (1-1)
MJF is wearing a “I banged Dallas’ daughter” shirt. DDP wants to
start the match off against MJF but MJF tags in The Butcher instead.
DDP tags in QT Marshall and MJF tags himself back in. MJF puts
Marshall in a side headlock and then leapfrogs Marshall as he shoves
him into the ropes. Marshall cartwheels over a charging MJF and then
flips him off.
MJF pokes Marshall in the eyes and tags Blade. Blade goes for a
clothesline but Marshall ducks and hits a Springboard Cross Body.
Rhodes tags in and hits a series of clotheslines. Rhodes hits an
Uppercut and then an Atomic Drop, but Blade sidesteps a Big Boot and
rushes Rhodes into the heel corner where MJF hits him with his ring
before quickly handing it off to Wardlow.
Blade tosses Rhodes to the floor where Allie slaps him and Wardlow
runs him over.
—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-
MJF puts Rhodes in a Crossface and then drops down on him with a
Cannonball as he tried to fight to his feet before going right back
to the Crossface. Dustin gets his knees up as MJF went for another
cannonball.
Dustin kicks MJF and sends him to the floor. Butcher takes QT
Marshall out on the outside as Dustin hits a charging Blade in with
a Powerslam! DDP makes the hot tag and lays MJF out with a
clothesline and then a series of turnbuckle shots! DDP hits the
Tornado Clothesline on Butcher and then one for Blade!
DDP hits the Diamond Cutter on Butcher! DDP goes for one on MJF but
MJF counters with a mule kick as the referee couldn’t see. DDP tags
Dustin and Dustin dives off the middle rope with a Super Americna
Destroyer! DDP hits MJF with the Diamond Cutter! Dustin covers MJF
but Blade breaks it up.
Marshall tosses Blade to the floor and Rhodes dives off the apron
onto Butcher and Blade with a Cannonball followed by a QT Special
from Marshall! Allie goes to the top for a dive but DDP stops her
and then dives off with a Plancha onto everybody! As Marshall slides
back in the ring MJF quickly rolls him up for the pin! MJF was
pulling the tights on the pin.
Winner: MJF, Butcher & The Blade via pinfall (rollup)
A drunk Adam Page interrupts an SCU promo and Omega pulls him away
before a fight happens.
Wardlow vs. Cody in a cage is announced for Feb. 19 in Atlanta.
—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-
Main Event
“The Bastard” PAC (0-0) vs. Darby Allin (1-1)
The winner faces Jon Moxley next week in a No. 1 Contenders Match.
Darby and PAC stalk each other before locking up with PAC getting
the advantage with a side headlock. Allin shoves PAC into the ropes
only to get run over with a shoulder block. PAC hits the ropes again
but Allin leapfrogs him and connects with a beautiful Springboard
Lucha Armdrag.
Allin hits a dropkick and hits the ropes only to walk right into a
Tilt-A-Whirl Backbreaker from PAC. PAC tosses Allin across the ring
with a Hip Toss and puts the boots to him. PAC whips Allin into the
corner and charges into a boot from Allin.
Allin hits a Shotgun Dropkick sending PAC into the turnbuckles. Pac
retreats to the floor but eats a Tope Suicida from Allin sending him
into the guardrail. Allin hits another Tope Suicida and then dives
off the apron but PAC catches him in midair and slams him head-first
into the ring steps.
—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-
During the break PAC Powerbombed Allin on the steps and then spent
the rest of the time beating him down and putting him in
submissions. PAC tosses Allin into the guardrail and then tosses him
back in the ring and hits a Missile Dropkick off the top for a
nearfall.
Allin has a cut on his arm. PAC lifts Allin up onto his shoulders
and climbs to the top rope, but Allin fights him off and hits a
Crucifix Super Bomb! PAC rolls to the floor but eats a Coffin Drop
from Allin off the top! Allin rolls back into the ring but PAC
manages to roll back in before the 10-count.
Allin hits a Flipping Stunner and then the Code Red! 1…2…NO PAC
kicks out! PAC rolls to the floor and Allin goes for a Sliding
Dropkick, but PAC uses the apron to trap him and then kicks him in
the head. PAC rolls Allin into the ring and connects with a nasty
Running Lariat for another nearfall.
Allin comes back with a La Magistral Cradle for a nearfall of his
own. The two exchange a series of awesome nearfalls and then Darby
goes for a Springboard Coffin Drop only for PAC to catch him in
midair with a German Suplex followed by a DISGUSTING Powrebomb!
1…2…NO Allin kicks out!
PAC goes to the top but Allin cuts him off and climbs up with him.
PAC headbutts Allin and then hits the Black Arrow to Allin’s back!
1…2…3!
Winner: PAC via pinfall (Black Arrow)
Schiavone tries to interview PAC after the match but PAC keeps
cutting him off. PAC says Moxley is physically incapacitated so he
will have to forfeit next week, meaning he is already the No. 1
Contender. PAC tells Jericho that he is coming for him but Schiavone
stops him and says something is going on backstage.
Moxley is loaded into an ambulance but Moxley buts his way out and
marches down to the ring! Moxley says it doesn’t matter if he has
one eye, he’s kicking PAC’s ass next week.
