Raw is War

A capacity crowd looked on as Mr. McMahon made his way to the ring to start RAW IS WAR. The owner brought out "the single most awesome force in the World Wrestling Federation today", Paul Wight, and officially welcomed him to the Federation. Wight promised that things will never be the same, and said last week on RAW he "single handedly" put the WWF title around The Rock's waist. Upon hearing those remarks, the champion made his way from the back and confronted Wight face to face. Then Mankind showed up and said he wanted to prove to Commissioner Michaels that he could be a good referee-so he volunteered to officiate a Wight-Rock title match later on RAW. To the chagrin of Mr. McMahon, both superstars agreed to the idea!

In the first match of the night, Grunge and Rocko, better known as Public Enemy, made their Federation debut as they took on Edge and Gangrel of the Brood. PE had the advantage, but Christian interrupted the proceedings by entering the ring and causing a disqualification. Suddenly the lights went out and Rocko and Grunge became the victims of a blood bath!

In a match to determine the number-one contender for the Intercontinental Championship, Badd Ass Billy Gunn took on Ken Shamrock. Meanwhile, current titleholder Val Venis joined Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler for commentary. After Mr. Ass was tossed outside the ring, Val "volunteered" to help out and tossed him back into the squared circle. When the World's Most Dangerous Man got a glimpse of the adult film star, he jumped outside the ring and attacked him! Gunn climbed back outside the ring and all three superstars battled! As officials tried to separate them, Ryan Shamrock emerged, and her big brother grabbed her and dragged her back to the locker room area.

After the break, Kevin Kelly interviewed Sable. The femme fatale denied that fans have begun to resent her new attitude-they love everything she does, she said. The Women's Champion spotted her biggest fan-the one that's been following her around the country for weeks--and called her into the ring. Sable said she's sick and tired of all the wannabes and told her fan to hit the road. But Luna emerged from the back and said not all women can be like Sable--and the only reason the femme fatale is Women's Champion is because of her looks. Luna and the fan walked off together but from behind Sable clocked them both with the Women's Title!

Next up, D'Lo Brown came out challenged both Jeff Jarrett and Owen Hart! D'Lo is livid after the Tag Team Champions and Debra injured both Mark Henry and Ivory. Jeff and Owen came out with Debra and the champions had a Handicap Match with D'Lo! During the match, PMS came out and as D'Lo had his back turned, Jacqueline jumped from the top rope nailed D'Lo with a missile dropkick to the back of the head. D'Lo went flying right into a spinning heel kick by Owen, and was pinned. After the match, Jarrett and Owen added insult to injury by further double teaming the former European Champion.

With Tori by her side, Luna entered the ring and announced that she was standing up for herself and the rest of the fans for the way they were treated by Sable. Before the Federation Women’s Champion could enter the ring, Tori attacked Luna from behind! With help from her biggest fan, the Femme Fatale hit Luna with a Sablebomb and left with Tori applauding her actions!

Up next, a returning Road Dogg made his way out to take on The Rock for the Federation Championship! The "Great One" took the early advantage on his foe—hitting him with a DDT. Then, the odds were tipped further in The Rock’s favor when all 7’1", 500 pounds of Paul Wight came to ringside! While The Rock distracted the referee, Wight attacked the DX member, allowing the champion to further pour on the punishment. Road Dogg briefly regained the momentum—but The Rock planted his opponent with the Rock Bottom and the Corporate Elbow for the victory! After the bout, Al Snow made an appearance with a steel chair and attempted to waffle Road Dogg with it! However, the DX member got in the first shot and subsequently knocked down Hardcore Holly. With both of his enemies down, Road Dogg said that if Holly and Snow wanted to fight him he would be in the parking lot!

With the Brood’s entrance music hitting the arena…the Public Enemy appeared dressed as the Goth warriors! Flyboy and Johnny Grunge ripped their enemies, resulting in the lights going out and the Brood’s entrance music playing once more! However, when the lights came back on Flyboy was missing from his partner’s side! Back in the parking lot, Bob Holly and Road Dogg were in the midst of a hardcore war!

In the first-ever "Kendo Stick Match" on RAW, Droz took on "Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman. The two superstars exchanged shots with the bamboo sticks to open the bout, putting welts over each other! Droz subsequently won the match after flooring his foe with the weapon. Back in the parking area, Al Snow ambushed Road Dogg and Hardcore Holly. As all three combatants fought into the street, a host of Federation officials broke up the melee! Coming back in from the outside, cameras caught a glimpse of what happened to Flyboy, who was the victim of an apparent Brood bloodbath.

Up next, Mr. McMahon joined Michael Cole and the King for commentary—and announced a HELL IN A CELL match between the Undertaker and the Big Boss Man for WrestleMania XV!! After the Man from the Dark Side made his way to the ring to take on Mankind, an all-out brawl erupted between the bitter rivals. The Boiler Room Dweller managed to plant the Mandible Claw on the Undertaker, but the Phenom launched him to the outside! After the superstars exchanged several chair shots, the referee called for the bell as both combatants were counted out. After the carnage, the Undertaker brutalized Mr. McMahon—which brought out the Big Boss Man. After the former Corrections Officer used his nightstick on the Phenom, the Ministry of Darkness chased McMahon and his strongarm to the back where they drove off in a limo.

Debra came ready to fight as Ivory accepted her challenge to a match! As the females went after each other in the ring, PMS hit the arena as Jacqueline dismantled Ivory with a piledriver. With his associate out cold, D’Lo Brown came out to make the save!

Accompanied by Chyna, Kane hit the ring to face Stone Cold Steve Austin! With 18,000 plus chanting the Rattlesnake’s name, both superstars annihilated each other with little regard for the referee’s orders. Kane focused his attack on his opponent’s back…squeezing the life out of Austin with a bearhug. However, the Rattlesnake battled back and hit Kane with a Stunner, but the referee was out cold! This bought Chyna enough time to pull Austin off the pinning attempt, which thoroughly @#$% off Stone Cold! After the Big Red Machine blindsided his nemesis, Paul Wight once again appeared. The big man threw a chair in the ring, which was intercepted by Stone Cold and used to cut Kane down! Unfortunately for the Texan, Chyna hit him with a low blow from behind! Wight entered the ring and attempted to plant a foot in Austin’s face, but Stone Cold ducked and Paul accidentally nailed Kane as RAW went off the air!
