Smackdown!
Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
November 23, 2000

SmackDown! kicked off from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., with Intercontinental Champion Eddie Guerrero coming down to the ring and calling out “The One” Billy Gunn. Eddie said that Billy may have stooged him off to “Cheapacita,” but he’ll never get what he really wants, and that is the Intercontinental Title. Eddie then said that he would put the Intercontinental Title on the line right then! “The One” Billy Gunn came out and the match was underway. Gunn soon hit the jackhammer followed by a “Fame-asser, but that wasn’t enough to put Latino Heat away. Gunn finally won the Intercontinental Championship after converting a headlock into a slam for the win.

Backstage, Pilgrim Mick Foley and Pocohontas Debra were standing in front of a huge Thanksgiving buffet when good ol’ J.R. came up and offered the two some roasted chicken, taken from a recipe from “Can You Take The Heat?” – the official World Wrestling Federation cookbook.

Eddie Guerrero was then shown throwing a fit backstage, obviously upset from losing his title to Billy Gunn.

Next up, European Champion William Regal – dressed in his usual three-piece suit – made his way in the ring and gave his greetings to everyone in Ft. Lauderdale. Regal said that, being an ambassador of goodwill, he was here on this festive night to tell America that Thanksgiving represents everything that is wrong with this country.

He said that today Thanksgiving means a bunch of overweight, dysfunctional families sitting on their bums watching cartoon balloons in parades on their television screens. Regal then began spitting out his own thoughts on proper etiquette for Thanksgiving when The Rock’s music hit! The “Great One” said that if Regal thought he came out here to disagree with him, he was wrong. He said first off, Thanksgiving was a great holiday. Secondly, after eating a big Thanksgiving dinner, there was nothing wrong with unbuttoning your pants. And third, he said Regal was no more than a suit-wearing, bug-eyed, cockamamie punkass SOB! Regal tried to tell Rock that the “Great One” was changing around his words, but The Rock cut him off once again. He said that the pilgrims weren’t kicked out of England, they left England. He said the holiday was for giving thanks, and he said all The Rock’s fans would be thankful if he walked down the aisle and “wallop his candy bum” from post to post. Regal asked if that was a challenge, and the People’s Champ said tonight the two would go one on one tonight on SmackDown! He then said after their match, they could celebrate by eating a nice Thanksgiving dinner. He said he would save Regal a drumstick, wash it off real nice, pour some worschester sauce all over it, and then proceed to shove it straight up his candy ass!

Backstage, Foley and Debra were talking to Al Snow, and Al gave the two some of his “Al Snow Peas” from the “Can You Take The Heat?” cookbook. Mick and Debra were then talking about each other’s costumes when the Kat approached them. Kat then gave Debra and Mick some of her homemade beef jerky from the Federation cookbook.

Next up, Hardcore and Crash Holly teamed up to take on the T&APA in a hardcore tag match. During the match, Albert sprayed Hardcore with a fire extinguisher on the outside, which allowed Albert to nail Crash with a trash can, setting up a big boot from Test for the win. Hardcore got some revenge after the match when he nailed Test with a road sign, but T&A stumbled away as the victors.

Mick, Debra, Al, Kat and J.R. were sitting around a dinner table when Too Cool arrived. Grand Master Sexay brought the sweet potato casserole, and Scotty 2 Hotty handed the Commish some Too Cool Orange Salad.

Val Venis, accompanied by Mr. Steven Richards, battled K-Kwik, who came to ringside with Road Dogg. Before the match, Val told the crowd that he would like to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving, but he could not do that because he said each and every person in the crowd should be at home spending quality time with their families instead of watching sick, perverse programming like SmackDown! During the singles match, Bull Buchanan and the Goodfather came to ringside and attacked Road Dogg. With the ref’s back turned, Steven Richards jumped into the ring and gave K-Kwik a DDT, which allowed Val Venis to get the win.

In the ring, Kurt Angle, who was wearing a neck brace, grabbed a mic and said that your Olympic champion was a tad naïve. He said when he thought he successfully defeated the Undertaker at Survivor Series, he thought that would be the end of it. He said whenever he faced opponents in high school, college or even at the Olympics, his opponents would congratulate him after beating them. However, he said, after what the Undertaker did to him and his brother on RAW this past Monday, he knows that the Undertaker is the biggest sore loser in town. Kurt then made reference to his brother – Eric Angle – who Taker attacked on Monday. Kurt said he loved his brother -- unlike Taker, who had burned his brother’s face so bad that he had to wear a mask. The Federation Champion then said that it was obvious to him that the Undertaker was jealous of his title … as well as his gold medals. At that point, the Undertaker came down to the ring and started beating the champ until Edge and Christian attacked the Dead Man! The men continued a three-on-one attack until finally Taker turned the tide and cleared the ring of all three men. Angle, Edge and Christian all left the arena during the break.

Next up, The Rock battled William Regal. During the match, Rikishi made his way out to the stage. The match ended when the “Great One” made Regal tap out in the Sharpshooter. Afterwards, the People’s Champ saw Rikishi on the stage, which prompted a staredown between the two men.

Debra and Mick were talking to Funaki about Thanksgiving when Mideon came up with a big bowl of his own minnestrone soup from “Can You Take The Heat?

Next, Tazz took on his former partner, Raven. Raven picked up the win after hitting a DDT on the thug from Red Hook, Brooklyn.

Back in the catering room, the Commish asked the Dudley Boyz what they brought for the Thanksgiving feast. D’Von told Foley that they had brought their special chicken dumplings.

In the Radicalz dressing room, Chris Benoit was consoling Eddie Guerrero about his loss to Billy Gunn when Lilian Garcia came in to interview Latino Heat. Before she could ask Eddie about his loss, Benoit grabbed the mic from her and started screaming about his loss to Stone Cold on RAW. Benoit said that Austin would find out who the best technical wrestler in the Federation was tonight when he and Kane took on Austin and Chris Jericho.

Next up, Molly Holly took on Trish Stratus. Trish dominated the match early until Molly grabbed the advantage. Molly finally won the match after she hit a somersault splash on T&A’s valet for the win.

Debra was asking who wanted a piece of her pie, which prompted all superstars to raise their hands.

Tiger Ali Singh and Lo Down then crashed the Thanksgiving Day feast and demanded that Commissioner Foley and Lt. Commissioner Debra allow them to be part of the celebration because of what they had accomplished in the Federation.

After spitting up his milk, Foley told the three men to settle down and enjoy the dinner. At that point, Singh took a pie and tossed it over his shoulder, only to find out that it had hit Hardcore Champion Steve Blackman in the face. Blackman began decimating Lo Down as the Dudley Boyz hit Tiger Ali Singh with a 3-D through one of the dinner tables. Buh Buh Ray got back up and screamed "Food fight!', which sparked the newest Thanksgiving Day tradition. Every superstar in the room began tossing anything edible across the room, destroying the dinner and trashing the entire room. As Foley sat back and watched it all unfold, Debra got into the spirit by shoving a banana cream pie all over the Hardcore Legend's face!

Finally, in the main event of the night, Kane and Chris Benoit teamed up to take on Chris Jericho and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Benoit was looking for revenge against Austin after the Rabid Wolverine lost to the Rattlesnake in a wrestling match on RAW. Kane was looking to even the score against Y2J after he nailed the Big Red Machine with a chair and slapped the Walls of Jericho on him this past Monday night. At one point, all four men were battling in the ring when the referee tried to force Stone Cold back to his corner. But, instead of a compliant Austin, the ref was served up a Stone Cold Stunner this Thanksgiving night. Austin then hit Benoit with his second Stunner of the match.

With the ref knocked out, Kane went for a chokeslam on Austin only to have Jericho break it up with a missile dropkick off the top rope. This opened the door for the Rattlesnake to hit his third Stunner in the match on Kane, leaving the masked monster lying in the middle of the ring as SmackDown! went off the air.
