VIOLENT VISITOR
FEB. 17, 2005
JBL has never looked more uncomfortable. And for good reason.

Just three days before No Way Out, the walls appear to be closing in on the longtime WWE Champion.

SmackDown! visited Cleveland, Ohio this week, and as promised, so did RAW’s Batista.

Three days after nearly being run over by JBL’s personal limo, Batista came to the arena Thursday night and, with JBL and his Cabinet watching in horror from the middle of the ring, promptly took an aluminum baseball bat to all 10 windows of the limo, shattering glass everywhere.

Batista then forcibly removed JBL’s trademark horns from the hood.

JBL sent Chief of Staff Orlando Jordan and Secretaries of Defense Doug and Danny Basham to the parking garage to confront Batista, but he sped off in his car.

Suddenly, Big Show, JBL’s opponent at No Way Out in the first-ever Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match, crashed the ring.

The Cabinet raced back to help JBL subdue the giant, but then Batista raced down the ramp and immediately wiped out the Cabinet, leaving just Show and Batista in the ring to stare down a back-peddling and visibly nervous JBL.

SmackDown! General Manager Theodore Long also announced that Batista will be at No Way Out and that Long will be at RAW Monday to try and sign Evolution’s animal to the SmackDown! roster.

Meanwhile, John Cena defeated Booker T and will now face Kurt Angle in Angle’s hometown of Pittsburgh at No Way Out in the final of the No. 1 Contender’s Tournament.

The winner will land a spot opposite the WWE Champion at WrestleMania 21, a match that could also include Batista.

Cena and Angle exchanged a long stare and words later in the show, with Angle reminding Cena of how he defeated Cena in his very first WWE match.

Two more matches were added to the No Way Out card as Cruiserweight Champion Funaki, Spike Dudley, Akio, Paul London, Shannon Moore and Chavo Guerrero will take part in an Elimination Match for Funaki’s championship.

Also, Rey Mysterio revoked the rematch clause in his contract to face WWE Tag Team Champions the Bashams. He also announced his partner would be Eddie Guerrero.

Rey then went on to defeat Doug Basham in singles action to open the program.

It was also announced that No Way Out will feature a Rookie Diva 2005 Competition featuring SmackDown! beauties Lauren, Michelle, Rochelle and Joy.

Long and Carlito had another encounter in Long’s office Thursday. Long told Carlito that the WWE Board of Directors would issue their findings and a final ruling next week after a meeting last week at WWE Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut.

Also, Luther Reigns only added to the venom between himself and the Undertaker by hitting ‘Taker with a camera Thursday. Those men will settle their differences at No Way Out on Sunday.
