1 – KANE & DOLPH ZIGGLER & MATT HARDY & SHELTON BENJAMIN & DREW MCINTYRE vs. CHRISTIAN & MVP & JACK SWAGGER & EVAN BOURNE & KOFI KINGSTON

This is a Money-In-The-Bank preview match. During Shelton’s entrance, they showed clips of Wrestlemania Fan Axxess, including Bret Hart conducting an interview in the ring. Kingston and Ziggler began the match for their respective teams. After a cover by Kofi, all ten men got in the ring for a stand-off as they went to break.

[Commercial Break]

Back from break, Hardy was working over Swagger. Swagger got the advantage on Benjamin, thought about making a tag, but didn’t. Finally, Bourne tagged himself in when Swagger got kicked in the head. Each man tagged in and got a bit of offense in to show the fans he may have a chance on Sunday. Bourne went for the Shooting Star Press, but McIntyre distracted him. Bourne kicked at McIntyre, which allowed Benjamin to pop up to the top rope and throw Bourne three-quarters of the way across the ring. Time for another break.

[Commercial Break]

Benjamin and Bourne were still in the ring, but Shelton tagged Kane in. As you’d imagine, Kane had his way with the smaller Bourne. Ziggler got some shots in as well. McIntyre hasn’t been in yet, and his team apparently doesn’t like him, as they didn’t even let him in the ring when he made his entrance. Bourne landed an enziguiri and tagged Christian into the match. McIntyre finally came in when Ziggler was down, agitated about not getting tagged in. Each man came in (most of them illegally) and started hitting all their moves. Kane double chokeslammed Bourne and Kingston. Christian dodged a chokeslam and low-bridged Kane out of the ring. McIntyre finally came in legally, making a blind tag. Christian Killswitched Ziggler, but McIntyre came in and landed his finisher on Christian for the win.

WINNERS: McIntyre, Ziggler, Kane, Hardy and Benjamin, at 17:08. Interesting result. Sheds doubt for those picking McIntyre to win Sunday (myself included). Especially interesting was Christian getting pinned.

After the match, McIntyre got a ladder and began to climb it in the ring. All of a sudden, EVERYONE else recovered at the same time and came into the ring, surrounding McIntyre and the ladder. McIntyre hit the mat the hard way. Everybody else just stood around and Kane’s music played to signal the exit of the wrestlers.

- More clips of Wrestlemania Axxess, including some of the art on display this past week.

- Vickie Guerrero vs. Beth Phoenix, in Vickie’s first match (aside from the Hog Pen match) is still to come.

- Chris Jericho addresses the WWE Universe later on tonight.

[Commercial Break]

- Jerry Lawler thanked Kevin Rudolf for “I Made It,” one of the theme songs for ‘Mania.

- Lawler and Michael Cole voiced-over clips of Hornswoggle’s house at Wrestlemania Axxess. They also showed the ability to make your own entrance.

- Cole and Lawler were shown in a makeshift set at Axxess in Phoenix. They discussed the Money-In-The-Bank Ladder Match, and Chris Jericho vs. Edge. A video package then aired on the Edge vs. Jericho feud.

- They did a wide shot of Axxess as Cole and Lawler talked about Chris Jericho’s interview later tonight. Also, Vickie Guerrero’s “first ever Divas match,” according to Lawler (which is more accurate than the chyron, which hyped it simply as her first ever match).

[Commercial Break]

- They showed a display with all the Championship belts in them, past and present. Also, people who got inside the ring – but not a real ring, just one with the ropes and instead of a mat, foam square stuff like you would see in a Chuck E. Cheese pit.

- Clips aired of the Axxess Art Festival. They showed Bret and Lawler’s artwork, which was probably the best there.

- The Punk vs. Mysterio feud was shown in a video package, one that focused on Punk interrupting Mysterio’s family gathering.

- Josh Mathews was backstage (in San Jose) with ShoMiz. He asked about their confidence heading into Wrestlemania. Miz compared the two to other famous duos, like Peanut Butter & Jelly, Mac & Cheese, Batman & Robin. He said their opponents are opposites. Miz said tonight, Big Show will show R-Truth what a knockout punch is all about.

- Vickie Guerrero was walking backstage. Her match against Beth is next.

[Commercial Break]

- As if anyone should be shocked, Vickie walked out for her match with a microphone. She reminded Beth that last week, she told her that if she laid a hand on her, she’d regret it. So Vickie made it a five-on-one handicap match.

2 – BETH PHOENIX vs. VICKIE GUERRERO & MICHELLE MCCOOL & LAYLA & MARYSE & ALICIA FOX – HANDICAP MATCH

It’s tag rules here. Beth offered to knock knuckles with Layla to start as a sign of sportsmanship, and Layla foolishly took her up on the offer. Beth picked Layla up like a rag-doll and dropped her hard in the corner. Ouch. Phoenix pressed Layla over her head, but Michelle hit Beth in the head (as she was close enough to the heel corner). Beth swung Layla around, hitting McCool in the head with Layla’s legs. Phoenix got tired of waiting and brought all the Divas in for punishment. All of them except Vickie. Finally, the numbers game caught up to beth, as Layla held Beth’s legs and McCool gave her a straight kick to the face. Another ouch. Vickie screamed that she wanted to be tagged in. McCool obliged and Guerrero made the pin.

WINNERS: Guerrero, McCool, Layla, Maryse and Fox, at 2:24.

McCool hopped around like a frog for some reason….oh, she wanted Vickie to frogsplash Beth! Good night, that would be a sight. So the heels held Beth while Vickie climbed to the second rope. Before Vickie could come down on Phoenix, she started frantically pointing to the aisle. The face Divas, including Kelly Kelly, Eve Torres, Mickie James and Gail Kim came out to rid the ring of the heels. It was down to only Beth and Vickie. As Vickie tried to escape, Beth captured her, grabbing her by her spandex pants. She was pulling as Vickie was trying to run away. The pants ended up ripping off, showing Vickie in giant pink underpants, with “Excuse Me” bedazzled on them. Oh jeez. One of those groan-inducing “only in pro wrestling” segments.

[Commercial Break]

- Striker thanked Audioslave for the use of “Be Yourself,” another theme for Wrestlemania.

- Tony Chimel introduced Chris Jericho. Jericho set the stage for his Wrestlemania match with Edge. As expected, he vowed to beat Edge and retain the World Championship. Jericho heaped praise upon Edge. He even said Edge has every tool to beat Jericho, except for one: DNA. Does he mean Matt Morgan? Crowd started chanting “you suck,” and Jericho apologized if his speech was going over their head. Awesome. Jericho simply said his DNA was superior to Edge’s (as well as everyone else’s). He called Edge “a reject” and “defective.” Jericho said not to blame Edge for his bad DNA that causes him to constantly get injured. He said he’d use Edge’s inferior genetics against him. He promised to do whatever it takes to injure Edge again at the PPV. He told Edge to blame his defective DNA when he loses on Sunday.

Edge’s music interrupted and he came out in a huff, running to the ring and brawling with Jericho. He kicked Jericho in the head, then set up for the spear. Jericho snuck out of the ring before Edge could hit his finisher. His belt was left in the ring and Edge picked it up. He looked at it, with a shot of the Wrestlemania logo in the background. The challenger’s music played to end the segment.

[Commercial Break]

- They showed Mr. McMahon’s limousine from his character being “blown up” (can’t believe they re-lived that one). They also showed some Hart family gear, including Owen Hart’s and British Bulldog’s, that were on display. Bret Hart was shown at Axxess, then we saw a video package on Bret vs. Vince.

- Big Show vs. R-Truth is still to come. But next, Lawler and Cole will preview Batista vs. John Cena.

[Commercial Break]

- More from Fan Axxess: Fans getting air-brushed tattoos. Also, they showed WWE Memorabilia on display. Even Vince’s bright red announcing jacket!

- Cole and Lawler mentioned the special start time (7pm EST) for Wrestlemania, then they previewed Cena vs. Batista in video form.

- Up next, Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels will be previewed.

[Commercial Break]

- The Wrestlemania Recall was “Wrestlemania Goes Hollywood.” Lots of clips of the first MITB match were shown, mostly of Jericho, Edge, Shelton Benjamin and Kane.

- The graves for all of Taker’s 17 Wrestlemania victims were shown, as well as past ring jackets worn by Shawn Michaels, both at Axxess. A video package aired previewing Michaels vs. Taker. Lawler picked Taker to win, for those scoring at home. Cole threw it to the announcers in San Jose.

- John Morrison came out. He said he was out to introduce the man that will take on Big Show in tonight’s main event, R-Truth. Truth then rapped his way to the ring. Truth told Morrison when he got to the ring that Morrison gave him one of the best introductions ever. So Truth returned the favor and gave Morrison a rousing intro. The two men said Miz have Big Show have nothing in common. Morrison made fun of Big Show’s Wrestlemania record and both made fun of Show’s weight. They continued on a lot longer than I expected, until finally (mercifully?) Morrison said they’d be tag champions after ‘Mania and Truth finished up with his usual deal. Show finally came down with The Miz and just as they were about to start the match, they took the final break in the show.

[Commercial Break]

3 – R-TRUTH vs. THE BIG SHOW

Show got the advantage early on – the bell rang as soon as they came back from break. Show picked Truth up and bodyslammed him down as Miz taunted Truth from ringside. Big right hand from Show to the mid-section of Truth. Show smushed Truth in the corner, and used the ring post as an aid. Truth tried a comeback by getting his feet up on a Big Show “charge.” Show caught a cross-body attempt and connected with a fall-away slam. Show went to the second rope, but missed an elbowdrop. Thank God it missed. Miz got on the apron to check on Miz, so Truth nailed him. Morrison threw him into the ring steps. Morrison then came into the ring and fell victim to a hand to the throat. The ref called for the bell as the two faces laid out both Show and Miz. Morrison landed a Flying Chuck kick on Show and a Starship Pain on Truth. The two faces stared at the Wrestlemania sign as the faded out.

WINNER: Show, via DQ, at 3:24.
