“Then. Now. Forever.”
Live from The AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas… Tom Phillips
welcomes us to this week’s Smackdown Live! and a recap of last
night’s literally explosive ending to Braun Strowman and Bobby
Lashley’s Falls Count Anywhere Match on Raw. We will be hearing
from Bobby Lashley regarding the match and obtain further updates
to Strowman’s injuries.
In the meantime, Kevin Owens makes his way to the ring for another
episode of ‘The Kevin Owens Show’. Owens’ guests tonight are
facing two superstars who we never would have thought would be
teaming up, Roman Reigns and The Undertaker, at Extreme Rules…
Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre. Shane asks for Greg Hamilton to
give his proper introduction… THE BEST… IN THE
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORLD! SHANE! MCMAHON!
Owens takes us back to last night and The Undertaker’s response to
McMahon and McIntyre. “Oooo spooky.” McMahon says sarcastically.
Owens asks if the two are actually afraid of The Dead Man.
“I’m not afraid at all! I’m on a hot streak right now. I’ve run
through The Miz, I’ve beaten Roman Reigns… and by the way, our
match will be a No Holds Barred Match,” says McMahon. McIntyre
says that everyone knows what he’s capable of doing in a regular
match, and what Shane is as well. We cannot imagine what they will
be capable of in a No Holds Barred Match.
Owens asks for a specific part of the montage to be replayed… the
part where Shane and Drew retreat from the ring and their
frightened facial expression. “It’s a gutteral reaction, right? A
reflex. You can’t really help yourselves, right?”
McMahon tells Owens to just read the index cards and do his job.
Owens reads that Shane beat Reigns without any help and that he is
cowering… he goes to another index card and asks how it felt to
make his big return to the WWE after a 7-year absence only to lose
to The Undertaker at Wrestlemania. McIntyre leaps in front of
McMahon and Owens but we are interrupted by Dolph Ziggler.
“NO! NO! NO! You’re not gonna’ come out here and say how it should
have been you! It should have been you! Yeah! It should have been
you 8 years ago, and it kind of was, then it wasn’t and it’s not
going to happen again! JUST GET OVER IT!”
Ziggler says that everyone knows that he should be WWE Champion
right now. He has the looks to be a champion, where Owens looks
like he should be in a hot dog eating contest. Owens says if he
was in one, at least he’d be a champion unlike Ziggler who has
never won any wrestling matches.
Shane McMahon pairs Ziggler and Owens together as a tag team to
face Heavy Machinery tonight, where the winner will be injected
into the Smackdown Tag Team Championship Match at Extreme Rules
making it a Triple Threat Match. Owens yells at production to play
his music to intro him out of the ring.
Backstage, Daniel Bryan gives his reaction: While management’s
decisions have been unpopular as of late, there’s nothing he can
say about it except that Rowan and himself will walk in as
champions and walk out as champions.
*Commercial Break*
In the gorilla position, Xavier Woods says that Big E and him are
always ready for a fight of any kind, regardless if it is a Triple
Threat or not. AAAAWWWW SAN ANTONIO!…. Big E and Woods make their
way to the ring, followed by Daniel Bryan and Rowan. Their
respective tag partners will be at ringside for this match.
Big E v. Daniel Bryan
Big E gets a ‘New Day Rocks’ chant going throughout the crowd.
Bryan goes from headlock to go-behind, causing Big E to swivel his
hips making Bryan unbearably uncomfortable. Fireman’s Carry up and
over to the corner, Bryan looks at Big E perplexed. Bryan off the
ropes for a shoulder block, nope. Again? Nope. Again? Big E
tussles Bryan around into an Abdominal Stretch and a positivity
spanking. A flip-inducing clothesline sends Bryan down and rolling
out of the ring.
*Commercial Break*
We’re back and Big E is caught in corner, Bryan kicking at his
left hamstring. A running dropkick sends Big E sprawling and
crawling to the center of the ring. Bryan decides to slap Big E in
the face… not smart. Big E fights back with a couple
belly-to-belly suplexes, but the third is countered by a kick back
to the hamstring. Bryan tries for the ‘Yes Kicks’, Big E catches
the leg, delivers the 3rd belly-to-belly! Follows with a splash!
1… 2.. kick out. Bryan rolls to the apron, Big E tries for a spear
through the ropes, dodged!
Bryan goes back in the ring, off the ropes, Big E intercepts the
suicide dive with a forearm. With the ref checking on Bryan, Rowan
shoves Big E into the post and back in the ring. Woods tries to
make the save but eats a right hand from the big man. In the ring,
Flying Knee on Big E! 1.. 2.. 3!
Winner: Daniel Bryan via pinfall
R-Truth is backstage for an interview and we’re shown how he lost
his 24/7 Title last night to Drake Maverick. R-Truth talks about
how he never really got to go on his honeymoon. And what’s better
than 2 on a honeymoon? 3! And he heard Hornswoggle’s in the arena.
And he wants his baby back!
Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross walk together backstage, Bliss is
giving the hosting duties of ‘A Moment of Bliss’ to Cross! And
Bayley’s her guest!
*Commercial Break*
It’s time for ‘A Moment of Bliss’ and here’s comes the host…
complete with her entrance theme, Nikki Cross. She leaps into the
chair and thanks Alexa Bliss for this opportunity. She says
because she’s from Glasgow, Scotland, she has a little bit of an
accent and will try to talk slow enough for everyone to understand
her. And now, her guest… Bayley.
Bayley’s actually a little impressed that Bliss is giving Cross
hosting duties. Cross tries to say that Bliss is more generous
than she thinks but Bayley interrupts… and that Cross shouldn’t be
doing her bidding. Cross asks the first tough question: Why did
she call Alexa a liar? Um… because she is one. Cross thinks it’s
unfair how Bayley drags Alexa’s name through the dirt. What Bayley
thinks is unfair is that Cross beat both herself and then
Carmella… so why isn’t Nikki facing Bayley for the Smackdown
Women’s Title?
“I don’t know!”, Cross replies, “But what I want to know is why
I’m not facing you in that ring right now?!” Bayley accepts
Nikki’s challenge. Nikki stomps down the ramp and it looks like
that’s what we’re getting.
*Commercial Break*
Bayley (Smackdown Women’s Champion) v. Nikki Cross *Non-Title*
Bayley with dropkick right out of the gates! 1… 2.. kick out. Snap

Kofi is backstage throwing pancakes, making his way to the ring.
*Commercial Break*
We get a vignette of Ali giving us positive and inspirational…
words… of sorts.
Kofi Kingston is making his way down to the ramp for another one
of those ‘Face to Face’ moments the WWE loves to give… with Samoa
Joe. We’re refreshed with a montage from the 6-Man Tag Match from
last night’s Raw. Here comes his challenger for the WWE Title at
Extreme Rules… the aforementioned Samoa Joe.
“Kofi and I gonna’ discuss some very personal matters. So Kayla,
in order to prevent of further collateral damage, please exit the
ring.”
Every time Samoa Joe looks around, Kofi is given forms of
benevolence and generosity. Every time The New Day is given a
chance at singles’ gold, Kofi is offered up. Samoa Joe sees game,
game recognizes game. He knows Kofi is just using everyone. In the
future, who knows, we may see Woods as his hype man and Big E as
his butler.
Kofi reminds Joe that he’s beaten everyone by himself since
Wrestlemania. And also reminds Joe what he has done by himself,
especially losing to Ricochet by himself. What happened to the
Samoa Joe that took on all comers? Now we have Samoa Joe hiding
behind corners, sneaking around backstage. “Your ass is too big to
be playing hide and seek.”
Samoa Joe talks about Kofi’s Wrestlemania celebration, using his
son to sell his new T-Shirt. Kofi looks beyond it, he knows why he
attacks family. He’s jealous! Jealous Joe! He’s jealous because…
he’ll never have a Wrestlemania moment like Kofi had.
Samoa Joe asks Kofi to shake his hand, though he’s put him to
sleep for the past two weeks. I guarantee I won’t lay a hand on
you… are you the man you pretend to be? Kofi raises his hand… to
Samoa Joe’s face and a middle finger! Trouble in Paradise! Kofi
leaves the ring with Samoa Joe on his back.
Heavy Machinery is backstage, responding to the Triple Threat
opportunity they have tonight. Owens and Ziggler may have 18
combined titles between them, but not one win together as a team.
They’re gonna’ implode. We’re gonna’ take care of business!
Apollo Crews is backstage walking to the ring for his match
against Andrade tonight! And Abby the Witch looks around the
corner to make sure he knows which way to go.
*Commercial Break*
Once again, we are reminded of the insanity that happened during
Lashley and Strowman’s match from last night’s Raw. Strowman may
have suffered from a ruptured spleen due to the incident. A tweet
by Lashley is shown for all to take in…
Apollo Crews v. Andrade
Apollo and Andrade out of the gates punching each other like mad.
Andrade beats Apollo down in the corner, follows it with the
double knees. 1… 2… kick out. Apollo clotheslines Andrade to the
outside. Standing on the apron, Asai Moonsault onto Andrade! Back

continues to the corner, where Andrade is sitting on the top
turnbuckle. Gorilla press from Apollo is followed by a standing
moonsault! 1.. 2.. kick out. Back on their feet, Andrade lands on
his feet from a belly-to-back attempt. Feint kick, back elbow to
Apollo’s dome!
Apollo rolls to the outside, Andrade plancha over the ropes….
caught! Apollo gives Andrade a Snake Eyes onto the apron. Apollo
sends Andrade back in the ring, the ref checks on him… giving
Zelina the opening to huracanrana Apollo into the commentary desk!
Andrade brings him back… Hammerlock DDT. 1… 2… 3.
Winner: Andrade via pinfall
Ziggler and Owens are in the locker room insulting each other
while trying to encourage each other for tonight’s main event.
Ember Moon is making her way to the ring backstage. She has a
match with Mandy Rose… and Carmella’s going to be in Ember’s
corner.
*Commercial Break*
Aleister Black tells us that no one was at his door when it was
knocked last week. He wants the one who knocked to reveal himself
at Extreme Rules.
In the ring…
Ember Moon v. Mandy Rose
Spinning forearm by Ember starts this match, with Carmella and
Sonya DeVille looking from ringside. Off the ropes, a series of
counters ends with Rose flipping Ember overhead from a
belly-to-back position. 1.. 2.. kick out. Rose sends Ember to
ropes hard and follows with blunt knee strike! 1.. 2.. kick out.
Sent to corner, Ember leaps to the top turnbuckle… Codebreaker!
Ember goes back to the top… Eclipse! 1… 2… 3!

Shelton Benjamin is backstage… and asked who he thinks will win
the WWE Title at Extreme Rules. After his eyes look in 245
different directions, he smiles and exits.
Owens and Ziggler are on their way to the ring for tonight’s main
event.
*Commercial Break*
The commentary team has A LOT of company during this match:
Smackdown Tag Team Champions Daniel Bryan and Rowan to one side,
Xavier Woods and Big E with their own commentary desk on the
other.
Kevin Owens and Dolph Ziggler v. Heavy Machinery
Ziggler and Otis are starting us off. Ziggler tries to take Otis’
legs down, nothing doing. A second attempt, Otis has Ziggler
around the waist, lifting him off the mat once… twice. Ziggler
breaks away, dropkick. Ziggler sends Otis to the corner… nope…
Otis sends him. Avalanche to Ziggler.
Owens pulls Ziggler out of the ring… and Woods jumps Rowan from
across the table! It’s hysteria at ringside! Big E eats his second
flying knee from Daniel Bryan tonight! Rowan is tearing apart New
Day’s desk, pancakes areflying everywhere. Rowan sends Woods
through it with the Iron Claw!
*Commercial Break*
Back from break, Tucker and Owens are in the ring. Tucker sends
Owens flying with a shoulder tackle off the ropes. Owens sends
Tucker to the ropes, a leap over a lying-down Owens, perfect
dropkick to Owens! 1.. 2.. kick out. Owens backs Tucker into the
corner, raining fists. Tucker with a knee to the gut, tries to run
the ropes but a low-bridge from Dolph sends him to the outside.
Dolph tagged in, brings Tucker back in after his face eats the
barrier. 1… 2.. kick out. Owens tagged in, kicks a prone Tucker.
Standing Frog Splash! 1.. 2.. kick out. Owens drags Tucker to the
opposing corner. Ziggler tagged in… Dolph with a swinging
neckbreaker, Owens with a Senton follow! 1.. 2… kick out.

Before Otis makes his way to the opposite corner, another
superkick from Owens.
A kick to the gut, Owens trying for a Stunner! Otis shoves away
just at the right moment for Ziggler to accidentally superkick
Owens! Tucker gets in and clotheslines Ziggler out of the ring!
Otis has Owens up… Tucker to the ropes… Compactor!

Owens is not happy with Ziggler… and Stuns him for his mistake!
